A Trifold Twist
Posted by Deena on April 28, 2008
Last week’s SCS Inkling newsletter had a tutorial by Beate for a Trifold card. I wanted to give it a try, and because I have been seeing a lot of double pocket cards around lately, I gave the trifold a twist and turned it into a double pocket. So, If you have a look at Beate’s wonderful tutorial on SCS HERE, you will be better able to see what I did to get the extra pocket.
Where Beate makes an arc in Step 4 and 5, I also rounded the bottom panel, so that when it is folded upwards, it mimics the rounded arc of the top of the card. Then, as Beate suggests for a variation, I left off the belly band decoration. But instead of folding up the bottom, and then folding in the sides, I did the reverse, folding in the sides and folding up the bottom on top. I taped the two side edges of this bottom panel to form the second pocket.
I made two insert cards and decorated them with coordinating paper (reverse side). I Added some Primas and some tiny flower brads, and stamped the sentiment and a flourish from the Friendship Blooms SU set.
All paper is Crate Sweet Branch Collection
Ink – Lavender Lace and Bashful Blue SU
Hope you enjoy the twist!
