Check out Today’s Faves! I’ve added a few new beauties!
Today’s card is one I made many weeks ago and waited to post it because it was a birthday card. I’m sure she must have received it by now, so I figured it would be o.k to share it with you all! I really had fun creating this one!
This is a mojo monday sketch, # 32, from Julee’s site Poetic Artistry. She has a fabulous new sketch every Monday!
I used Inkadinkado stamps and stamped the flock of birds directly on the Far East DCWV sky paper in black ink. The first layer of the card is SU River Rock cs. on a chocolate chip base. The main image is stamped in Vintage Photo Distress Ink, on Whisper White cs. I colored the image with chalks and sponged the background with soft sky chalk as well. The panel behind the main image is hand torn for a rough edge. I distressed the edges of all the other panels. For the final touch I added the metal letter and brads.
It’s a beautiful day here! It’s finally warming up and the sun is shining! I’ve been spending time with the boys at the park in the last couple of days. Luckily for us, there is a park right at the end of our street which is also next to my son’s school. Actually, I have very little choice but to stop there to play, since we pass by it every day on the walk home!
Have a great & creative day!

I’ve set a new personal record! I made two cards in ten minutes! They were both made from one sheet of card stock, one sheet of 6 X 6 decorative paper, and two complementary colored pieces of scrap paper. One stamp and one 21 inch length of ribbon.
I cut the pale plum into two 6″X 6 1/2″ pieces and folded them leaving me with two base cards of 6″ X 3 1/4″ The dp was cut into two 6″ X 3″ pieces for the front panels. I cut the ribbon into 5 lengths. One 7″ piece, two 4″ pieces, and two 3″ pieces. Using my So many Scallops birthday stamp I stamped once on each complementary scrap (pink)(teal), using Taken with Teal ink. With my 1 1/4″ SU circle punch I punched the middle circle out of both. Then I used my SU scallop punch to punch out both scallops. I used the center of one colour in the center of the other colour scallop. Then all I had to do was assemble the cards. Ialso highlighted the candles with a Sakura stardust pen for some shimmer.
Easy! Fun! Fast! Love it!

Paper- Basic Grey Gypsy, SU Pale Plum cs
Ink- Taken with Teal SU
Accessories- Ribbon Pretty in Pink, Scallop punch, circle punch Stampin’ UP!
While I was uploading these to SCS I realized the colors remind me of my Sweet Sixteen…I wore pink cotton pants with pink suspenders!! AAAck! Think Pinky from Happy Days! I had a box lunch social which my mother convinced me would be fun because she did it when she was a teenager! She was right. It was fun! Especially since we rigged it so that the guy I liked would get my lunch! hehe!
Anyone know what I’m talking about when I say box lunch social?
Have a great day!

I’m so excited about this free monthly online card magazine! I may have had my head in the sand, but I had never heard of Sheet Load of cards before today! Here is a link to their blog spot SHEETLOAD OF CARDS. They have April’s Issue out and May’s issue is ready to view online too! You really should go have a look because they have a new sketch, and many different card samples using that sketch, including one from guest artist Kurtis Amundson A.K.A Stamping Kub!
Have a peek at April’s issue. It features stamps and papers from Stampin’ Up! You can view it with Acrobat Reader.
If you like it too, shout it out! You could win a pretty Bella prize!
Now for a card I made today!

First, I have to say how wonderful my friends over at SCS are!
I was having a pretty bad day. I have horrible allergies and some days, even though I am on a 24/7 drug at this time of year, for it, I still feel like crap. My head spins and my hands shake!! I really wanted to do the Featured Stamper challenge and I chose a pretty card to case and went ahead and did it. But I was feeling so bad that it took me far longer than it should have, and I really didn’t think I liked it when I was finished! I posted it anyway explaining how I felt. This is where the wonderful girls over at SCS come in. I had many wonderful comments on my card, but what was really nice was how they all wished me well and hoped that I felt better! Reading their comments really did make me feel better! And after a while I went back and looked at my card again, and decided that it was better than I originally gave myself credit for. So, now I have the courage to post it here too. It also makes me realize how a simple comment can affect a person. I always leave a comment on a card that inspires me. I always give an honest opinion about it. And, I remember what our Mother’s always said: If you have nothing good to say, don’t say anything! If asked, I only give constructive input. I always want to encourage anyone to be creative! And I have found that creative types do need encouragement!
Thanks to all my friends on SCS and all my new friends visiting my blog!
Have a creative day!

I haven’t seen any flowers poking their sleepy heads up yet, but we are getting a lot of rain, so maybe in the near future? Maybe someone should change the song to May showers bring June flowers?!
Well, since there are no flowers yet and it barely feels like spring, Sharon Johnson over at No Time To Stamp has the right idea…to think Spring! Bring on Spring with our own fresh flowers in pink and green cards! Have a look at her challenge Here. Sharon’s challenges are always fun and inspiring!
I made a combination challenge card. Using yesterday’s Limited Supply Challenge from SCS and Sharon’s challenge I came up with this pink and green punched circle flower card. The LSC asked us to used only limited tools, and those had to be circle punches or cutters! I love using my circle punches and this was the perfect opportunity to make some sweet flowers with them. I used the 1 1/4 inch punch as well as the 1/2 inch punch. Both from Stampin’ UP!

Fun and simple to make. Just get out those punches! I want to make some of these flowers in every different size punch I have! Don’t be surprised if you start seeing these flowers on more of my cards!
I’m punch drunk!! hehehe
I used some fabulous new Spring 2008 paper from Crate Paper. The Katlin Collection. Isn’t it beautiful in such yummy colors?
The stem is a stamp from Sandy Lion Kelly Pannaci clear stamps, and it is inked in Regal Rose from SU.
The cardstock is SU Pretty in Pink and Mellow Moss textured cs.
Ribbons- SU Pretty in Pink grosgrain
-SU Chocolate Chip Polytwill

I made this one on a Sage Shadow and Blue Bayou base. I used a paper from Scribble Scabble called Felicity for this one, which repeats the circle dot flowers in it’s patterns.
The stem is stamped in SU Pumpkin Pie ink.
Hopefully these bring a bit of spring into your world!
Have a happy Saturday everyone!
