I pulled it off! I actually surprised Des with a birthday dinner! He had no clue there would be 10 other people at the restaurant I took him to for dinner. He is not easy to surprise and he is extremely difficult to buy birthday gifts for, so I am very pleased with myself! 🙂 We had a great time at our favourite sushi restaurant, Kaizen Sushi Bar, and went for drinks afterwards…it was a late night for us but well worth the headache this morning! I forget how much fun it is to go out in downtown Montreal. I used to do it so often in my twenties….but, now with kids it becomes much more difficult to find the time (when we’re not exhausted) and much more expensive (babysitter)!
I have a hard time making masculine cards, as I think a lot of us do! So, for Des’ B-Day card I cased my friend Colleen, who also happens to be my SU upline. She is wonderful, supportive and inspired me to start stamping! She introduced me to the Stampin’ Up world about a year ago and I even recently became an SU hobby demo.
If you are looking for an SU demo in the Whitby Ontario area, she’s your girl!! You can visit her Stampin’ Up site ColleensCards here.
And this is my Case of her card, for Des.
The Stamps used for both cards are Stampin’ Up! With the exception of my Happy Birthday sentiment, which is from Verve Visual. I used the Define Your Life set for the first time. It’s so neat, there’s a unique ‘definition’ for each letter of the alphabet. I used Y for YOU:The one and only , the one I value as a friend and love each day. The person in my thoughts.
Have a great Saturday! It’s a beautiful one here. Warm, sunny spring weather! Lovin’ it!!

Hey Deena, Nice job. I did another one where I changed the sentiment to Happy Father’s Day – you could do that for Des too – think he would realize?! lol! Nice job surprising him!!
