Hello! I loved yesterday’s colour combo for the SCS challenge! I was also in the mood to watercolor; I find it very therapeutic, and I needed some therapy yesterday! 🙂 So I chose the Summer By The Sea stamp set to color the little boy.
Also, at the bottom of today’s post I will show you a close up of the inside of the Post-it Purse Notes, and make some clarifications about how to assemble it. A few people have had some questions, so I hope this helps!
The little boy is stamped in Staz-on and colored with a blender pen and inks.
I stamped the bucket in Bayou Blue and cut it out. It is popped up on dimensionals. It is a bit hard to see in the picture, but I also stamped a seashell in Soft Sky on the bottom left corner of the image.
Stamps: Summer By the Sea, Life’s a Breeze, Warm Words
Paper: Blue Bayou cs, Soft Sky cs, Certainly Celery cs, whisper white cs
Ink: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Certainly celery, yoyo yellow,So Saffron, creamy Caramel, Going Gray, Not Quite Navy, Mellow Moss
Accessories: Blue Bayou double stitched ribbon
What do you think?
Now for some answers to questions about the assembly of the Post-it Note Purses. Here is a view of the inside of the post-it note (unfinished). All you need to do to give it a polished look on the inside is to add a lining of dp. This will cover the ends of the ribbons too. (If you want a super finished look)
O.k. For clarification, I use red line tacky tape to adhere the ends of the ribbon handle on the back of the front panel. The 4 eyelets are set 2 on each panel. The panels are held together by two short pieces of ribbon, passed through the eyelets. You are simply tying them together with a knotted bow. The ribbons are the “hinges” . Tie the knot after the post it notes are inside, so you will allow room for the height of the pad. If you pull the ribbons too tight, the front panel will flip up. You want it to lay flat against the pad inside.
I hope I have explained it alright. If not, the picture should help! 🙂
