Hello! Today’s project is a bookmark I made for the TLC over on Splitcoast. I love bookmarks! Whenever I am standing in line at a bookstore I look around for the bookmarks. I am one of those people that they target by setting up a stand near the checkout, full of beautiful bookmarks, knowing I can’t resist! I am so glad I could make my own today!
Here are views of both sides:
Would you like to make your own? You’ll find the original template from StampingMathilda.
From her template I made mine:
I started with a simple 3 1/8 inch square Java colored card stock. I then folded in the top corners to make the pointed corner pocket. A triangle of dp is placed over this to hide the fold. I stamped the leaves (SU) and flourishes Bird on the corner pocket side direct to the Blush dp. I punched the daisy chain border across the bottom. On the opposite side, I covered the Java card stock with the Blush dp, then I stamped the bird in flight, leaves and the sentiment direct to the dp.
The ribbon is glued between the layer of dp and cardstock of the front corner pocket. I strung my initials on it and tied off the end.
Quick and easy!
Stamps: Flourishes Birds in Vines, Pocket Silhouettes Stampin’ Up!
Paper: Java Brown, Basic Grey dp Blush,
Ink: Walnut Stain Ranger Distress Ink, green tea Versa color
Accessories: Chocolate chip ribbon SU!, metal initials, Martha Stewart daisy punch
I’m glad you could join me today! Hope you had your cup of coffee in hand (or your favourite cuppa) and took your time to enjoy a creative moment!
