Celebrating a Passion!

Hi everyone!

Sorry I’ve not posted in the last couple of days but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy making cards!  I had a very busy weekend, as I have a friend visiting for the week, which I’m super happy about because I have not seen her in quite a while.  Plus she is pregnant with her first baby!! I couldn’t be more excited for her!!

I really didn’t think I would have time to  participate in any World Card Making Day challenges, but I should have known better, since this IS a passion!!  I MADE time!! 😉

I made this card for the Limited Supply Challenge on SCS.  We could not use any patterned papers, or pastels.

I had this fabulous stamped image from a friend, and decided she would look stylish in black and white with a hit of color.  So, I colored in the butterfly with glitter gel writers and added the ribbon “shawl”.  Isn’t she chic?  The sea foam colored paper is actually quite shimmery, but it is so hard to capture that in a photo.

Stamps: Maxie Inkadinkado
Paper: Seafoam glimmer paper, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Staz- On Black,
Accessories: Crate Paper ribbon, jewellery piece (flower on ribbon), Glitter gel writers

The next card I made combines two challenges.  One is the Ways to Use it challenge: Trees.  And the other is an inspiration challenge found Here.

I wish the photo had captured the real shimmer this card has! I sprayed four different glimmer mists on Fabriano watercolor paper to get this mixed fall foliage color for the background. Then I punched some leaves from the same paper to embellish the card.

Stamps: Flourishes Forest of Trees,
Paper: Bazzill Java, orange rust, mustard
Ink: Ranger Distress walnut stain
Accessories: leaf punch, Tattered Angels glimmer mists in Daffodil, Cinnamon, coffee shop, solar gold.

So what did you do to celebrate World Card Making Day?  I hope you had time to make a card…or two!

Thanks for stopping in!  You know I love your company! 😉
