Holiday Happiness

Hello everyone,  I hope you all had a good weekend!  And to those of you in Canada, like myself, I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving weekend!!

The trees have changed colors into their beautiful red, yellow, and orange hues and it was a lovely thing to drive in the country and see their splendor!

I thought today I would share this card I made a couple of weeks ago.  I made it for a  sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  As soon as I saw the sketch I knew this would be the stamp set I would use. Trees are  a favourite of mine when stamping lately.  I guess all the rich colors of Fall are attracting my attention to their beauty!  Though, for this card I went with a wintery scene, not a Fall scene.

I stamped the trees in Versamark and embossed with Super Fine Detail black ep. Then I stippled Soft Sky, Baja breeze, and Blue bayou over it, gradually getting darker around the edges.  I used Basic Grey  snowflake paper for a background on one panel, and embossed swiss dots on the other.  Then I finished it off with a beautiful sheer black ribbon, and a single black dew drop, to draw your eye to the sentiment.

Accessories: black Super Fine Detail ep, cuttlebug, swiss dots folder, Black sheer ribbon, stipple brushes
Techniques: stippling, heat embossing, dry embossing
