A New Year’s Eve Wedding

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, family and friends!

We had a really fun family Christmas Eve and day at home, then on to my sister’s and then my mom’s house for a few days after Christmas.   I even got to see my big brother and his family at my mom’s, as they drove in from Stratford Ontario, and we all had a great visit!  The boys had a great time, especially with their cousins.  It’s really fun to see everyone together,  and having fun.  I only wish we could do it more often!

img_7683-erins-wedding-w-30I am so looking forward to tomorrow evening!  It will be the first New Year’s Eve, in quite a while, that we will really  celebrate in style!   Our friends are getting married!!  What a party it will be!   We are staying over at the hotel after the reception, because it will be very late and next to impossible to get a taxi home.  So we are really making a night of it!  The boys will be spending the night with our niece so we will even get  to sleep in the next morning. Woohhoo!

I wanted to make a special card for our friends for their wedding day, and I thought black and white was the way to go for this New Year’s Eve wedding celebration.  What do you think?  I was trying to capture the glitter and sparkle of  New Year’s, while keeping it elegant for the wedding.

I used my cuttlebug to emboss the lower portion of a white panel with the d’vine swirls folder, layered on a black base.

I stamped the top portion with one stamp.  I just alternated the angle as I stamped it, so the glasses look like they are ‘clinking’ together.   This beautiful champagne glass comes from the Flourishes set “You are Invited”.   I added some sparkle with a glue pen and Stampin’ Up!  dazzling diamonds glitter, to the bubbles.

The ribbon is black velvet and for the finishing touch, three diamonds down the left hand side.

I hope they like it!

I wish you all a happy New Year!  A year filled with love, blessed with health and much happiness!!

See you all in 2009!!
