I wish I could make such a promise! It has been sooooo cold around here this last week!! How does -30 degrees celcius sound?? Our hydro company actually issued a warning that we bundle up in our homes and REDUCE our thermostats. WHY? Because they said it was so cold that high consumption of electricity may cause a shortage and that would mean no one would have any heat!! WHAT??? Why do I live here anyway? I really should have been born somewhere tropical. I would have made a great island girl. hehehe!! Yes, technically Montreal is an island, just not the kind I’m talking about!
These colors say spring to me, they even say tropical. So take a good look and then close your eyes, that’s as close to spring as I can get you right now. 🙂
I received my set of Flourishes stamps (that I won) on Thursday! Yeah!! Happy mail!
I had to use it right away and decided to play along with the WT challenge on Splitcoast too. I went to Kuler to create a color combination using their terrific tools and came up with SPRING PROMISE. The colors, translated into Stampin’ Up! colors (in my opinion) would be:
Taken with Teal, Handsome hunter, So Saffron, Bravo Burgandy, and Certainly Celery.
I colored the flower using my Watercolor Wonder crayons and a blender brush, in Bravo Burgandy, So Saffron, Taken with Teal and Handsome Hunter.
The paper is K & company classic Margo 12 x 12 paper pad.
I had a very busy week, which is why I have not been able to post (or make) anything new until tonight. Thursday night was the only time I had all week to stamp! My Mother in Law was visiting for the week and we had a really nice time together. She is really sweet and laid back and I enjoy her company. Des is home too, so he had a good visit with his Mom, which I think is so great. Being a Mom of two boys, I really hope that my sons will enjoy my visits when they are grown too! They are so young yet, but I worry about things like that…wondering if we will be close etc. … oh well, I guess it comes with the territory, as they say.
On the down side of this week though, my sister in law went into the hospital for a couple of days. She has recently discovered that she is/has become epileptic and had a seizure just after Christmas. She was put on new medication, and was prescribed a dose that was too strong for her and she lost all motor skills, and passed out, falling on her face and breaking her nose!! She had to have her stomach pumped, and her blood regulated, and obviously they lowered her dosage drastically!! Now we wait to find out what the specialist has to say about it all. How does something like this happen??
My mother in law took her flight back home today, at least knowing that her daughter was home from the hospital, but still wondering if she should stay and help out. It is such a difficult thing when families are spread apart in different cities, and provinces. Luckily, we’re all in Canada though!
So that was my busy week! I hope you all had a good one. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I truly hope you are in warmer climates, and please, if you have any warmth to spare, send it our way!!
This is a terrific card. The patterned paper you chose goes well with the flower image.

Love your card! Great you had such a wonderful time with your mother in law. Don’t worry too much, I’m sure you’ll be one of the most loving ones in the future (the wicked ones are in the movie business).
Brrrrrrrrrr… soooooo cold! Last week we had about -13°C (at night) here in Antwerp and I thought that was cold enough!!! I left you a little ‘loving’ something on my blog to thank you for your regular visits and kind words, and I hope it can warm you up a little bit!
WARM and cosy hugs from Belgium.

Hello Deena, another beautiful card, I like the colours very much!
Wow, what a weather! Take care!
I’m sorry to read that about your sister-in-law, it’s certainly not nice, I didn’t know that it can happen to become epileptic, I always thought that you are born with it! I hope it’s not so serious!
I will think about you, hugs,
Alina
