I was inspired to make this butterfly card thinking I would use black ink only for Sharon’s Stamp simply challenge, but as I was making it I decided it would be fun to stamp one in rainbow colors! Ooops, there goes the challenge! I guess I’ll have to try again! See, I told you I’m not always good at following the rules! ~wink~.
Using markers is a great way to get multiple colors on one stamp, for a rainbow effect. I used Martha Stewart art markers in pink, turquoise, orange and blue, to “paint” on my rubber stamp “Priceless” set butterfly from Stampin’ Up! When coloring stamps with markers, it’s a good idea to start with the lightest color and apply the darkest last, so your marker tips won’t get mucked up. It’s a simple card, but I think it has “high impact” with these high contrast colors.
Let me know what you think, and thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a creative day!
Deena: I don’t know if you go back throu old comments, but I had to comment on this card. I have this stamp set and you gave me such a great idea to use this set! Thanks for the great technique idea!
