DIY Paper Little Yellow Birds

Happy Saturday!!

I made this clean and simple card the other day while stamping with my friend Peggy.  She had the idea that we should stamp our own paper and I love doing that.  So this is what resulted.  I kept the card very simple because I really love how the paper turned out, with those cute little birds!  What do think?  Does it need more embellishing or layers?  I sometimes think I keep my cards too simple.

Paper: DIY stamped on whisper white, kraft Stampin’ Up!

Ink: Tim Holtz broken china, SU! summer sun, basic black

Stamps: Bird on a branch, Spring Solitude, Fresh Cuts (sentiment) all Stampin’ Up!

Accessories: So Saffron Ribbon, mini brads, prismacolor pencils

I kept forgetting to tell you all how much fun I had for my belated birthday celebration last Saturday!!  My best friend took me out for the day, we went strolling and shopping in a quaint village along the Lakeshore, which included a visit to a great scrapbook shop, after having a lovely brunch.  Then out for a glass of wine (or two) at a fun wine bar, before meeting more friends for dinner at Miso (a sushi restaurant).  It was a really great day, and I was really touched that she had put so much thought into what I would enjoy and planning this wonderful day for me!

This week just flew by for me! How about all of you?  Are the days getting shorter??  There just isn’t enough time for everything I want to do!  Maybe if I slow down, time will slow down too?  🙂
