Crafty Creations Challenge #10

It’s time for another Crafty Creations Challenge!  This week’s theme is recycling, keeping in mind that Earth day is April 22nd!   My DT piece for this week  is a combined challenge effort.  I used my favorite stamp set from Flourishes for their Timeless Tuesday Challenge,  I used the colors from this week’s colour challenge on SCS and I followed Friday Sketcher’s layout #46!

For the RECYCLING challenge I decided to use a coke can.  I washed it out well, and let it dry. Then I used my can opener to remove the top, cut down the side, and around the bottom to remove it.  I was left with approximately 4″x8″ of soft tin. I punched out  two sizes of flowers, pierced the centers and adde brads.  I was surprised at how this turned out!   I had never tried this before because the edges of those flowers look sharp, and I didn’t want anyone bleeding all over my card! lol. BUT surprisingly, the metal is so flimsy that the edges are not very sharp at all.  In fact I think the paper is more likely to cut you!  Having said this, DO be careful when first cutting the can,because any ROUGH edges are sharp.  Once punched the tin is smooth.
