Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Guest Designer!

It is time for the  Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC26)!!! Did you know that every  last Tuesday of the month Flourishes has a new guest challenge designer?  I was ABSOLUTELY ECSTATIC when I was asked to be the Flourishes guest challenge designer this month!!!   When Betty got in touch with me I swear i couldn’t stop grinning for the rest of the day!!!  I was just so happy to be asked!!!   Then I got that anxious feeling,  you know…. those awful self doubts one gets… but that passed quickly because I was just too thrilled…after all I love working with Flourishes stamps and am so inspired by them!! So, I chose to challenge everyone to go MONOCHROMATIC with their cards.  Use ONE color, or shades of that color,  along with ONE other neutral white or cream cardstock.   All supplies and tools are allowed!  I would love it if you joined in the FLOURISHES CHALLENGE with us!! I chose to make a long tall card. It is a whopping 8 3/4″ x 4″ .  When I’m making …

Strawberry Fields

Hello!   First off, I will be adding at tutorial for the boxes in my previous post very soon!  Thanks for the lovely comments and for letting me know that you are interested in having a tutorial.  I asked first because writing tutorials is  time consuming and I wanted to make sure there was an interest  before I wrote it. I made today’s card with two challenges in mind…the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (shimmerz or shimmer) and the Stamp Simply challenge on Sharon’ s blog . (Fruit) I am loving my COPICS!!  I colored this with Y00, B21,BG13,R20, R27, R29, E00 I don’t own any green  aside from mint and aqua (blue greens) so I used a yellow base (Y00) and shaded with the blue (B21) then blended with the yellow (Y00) to get my green. I used a touch of the mint green (BG13) and blended it with yellow too.  What do you think?  I am really enjoying how the Copics blend and I feel more like I’m painting than coloring.   I used to …

Handmade Magnetic Closure Gift Boxes

These little gift boxes store flat! I made these different sized boxes using the same folding format.  I wanted  some small gift boxes to have on hand, (I love boxes!)  but I wanted them to lay flat for more convenient storage.  This way I can make them ahead of  time and they take up very little space, as space is limited in my craft room.   What do think?  They are quite easy to make too! Would you like a tutorial? Please let me know what you think! I will write up the tutorial (I already have the step by step pics taken) if there is an interest.  EDITED TO ADD: Here is the link for the TUTORIAL. Have a great and creative day!!

Crafty Creations Challenge 25

Hi everyone!!  I hope you are all enjoying the summer so far! I have been quite busy, and this past weekend we had a really nice visit from my nephew and his family from Calgary Alberta.  They stayed with us until Tuesday and from here they moved on to Ottawa to visit more family members.  It was really good to see them and a little sad to see them go, as we know it will be some time before we get together again.  Calgary is far, and very expensive to travel to with a family.  But, we made it out west last summer for their wedding, so who knows?  It is a beautiful place to visit!! I did miss stamping though!  So, today I have the Crafty Creations Challenge to show you. Jaime challenged us to a lovely unique sketch this week!   Have a look and hop on over to Crafty Creations to see what the rest of the design team did with it!  Jaime is offering a lovely CTMH prize this week.  Hope to …

Magnetic Memory Game Travel Tin Tutorial

MAGNETIC MEMORY TRAVEL GAME SUPPLIES 1 tin fun foam (self adhesive if available) cut into 24 one inch squares (most dollar stores carry this) strong mini magnets stamps (small images around 1″ ) 6 images for this size tin ink adhesive (ultra sticky red line tape) How To: 1. Measure your tin to see how many squares can fit.   A typical altoid tin can fit 2 rows of 3 in each the lid and the base, if the squares are cut to 1″. 2. I cut my self adhesive fun foam into 1″ squares.    The magnet is adhered with red line adhesive tape to the sticky side of one square.  Take another square and “sandwich” the magnet between the two squares leaving the second square’s sticky side out (for image adhesion) .  Repeat until you have finished all 12 two layered squares. A NOTE :  The magnets I use are extremely strong.  In fact without the double layer of foam, they would have ripped off the back and stayed stuck to the tin.  That …
