Falling Sage Leaves

It’s time for a Crafty Creations challenge!  This week the challenge is hosted by Shelly, and she has asked us to create something with Autumn/leaves in mind.  I’m sure you’ll have no problem making projects with leaves at this time of year!! I hope you’ll join us!   PAPER BLOOMS is our sponsor this week so you won’t want to miss it! For my card I’ve included two other challenges, being inspired by both!  The color challenge at SCS today asked for pretty in pink, sage shadow and going gray.  The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge asked us to “go outside of the frame”!   This is what I came up with tonight when I finally had some time to stamp. I had fun making the background for this! The frame is cut with Labels One Nesties and popped up on dimensional foam adhesive.  I’ve cut the stamped leaves from pink card stock and positioned them so that they seem to be coming out of the frame.  What do you think of the  background?  I stamped it …

Snowflake Notes

I thought I’d show you this set of winter note cards that I made last week. I have so much fun making 3″ x 3″ notes!  I have a pack of Soft Sky card stock leftover fom SU! ‘s In Colors from a while back, and I always thought it looked yummy paired up with Chocolate Chip.  I embossed the Soft Sky in my cuttlebug using the snowflakes folder, I punched the snowflakes in chocolate chip card stock, then punched them out using my  scallop square punch.  They are matted with a square of vanilla card stock.  The vanilla looks much better with the soft sky here than white  cs would.  I think it’s due to the shade of blue that it is, or maybe the combination of the blue and brown, but I definitely thought the vanilla looked better.  I added the strip of chocolate chip ribbon for interest and voila! a set of note cards were done!  Hope you like them!! I know I have not been posting as often lately, but I …

Windows

This week at Crafty Creations Claire (Hope Jacare)  is not only hosting, but also sponsoring our challenge!!  She is a very talented artist and has recently started selling her lovely digital designs at SHOP HANDMADE Hope Jacare. This week’s challenge is WINDOWS.  The design team has made some beautiful window designs!!  I hope you’ll take a minute to have a peek, and also join in the challenge! I used Flourishes beautiful new Cottage Home set to create my window scene.   I love the sentiment that comes with the set too!  What do you think? The window is cut out with the Nestabilities die scallop rectangle.  I colored the scene with Copics on classic white card stock from Flourishes. The card is made with bermuda bay from Stampin’ Up! Don’t forget to have a look at Hope Jacare’s shop, her images are fabulous! Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Fall with a Flourish!

It’s time again for FLOURISHES  Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC34 !!   Today I’ve combined it with the color challenge from Splitcoaststampers.  We were to use Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, and Black. I recently received the lovely new releases from Flourishes, including this set “Falling Leaves”.  I used a stamp misting technique which gives a nice watercolor effect when you stamp the image.  Unfortunately,  it did not work so well here with the open (line art) stamps.  You can see the effect subtly with the bottom corner leaves stamped directly on the Basic Grey dp. I do love how the colors turned out!  I really didn’t think i would, at first.  But here they are and I thought they worked so well for an Autumn themed card!  It’s not a complicated card by any means, you know me, I like to keep things simple!  I stamped the leaf on my Crushed Curry oval cut out, in Rich Razzleberry, and another that I cut out and popped up on adhesive foam.  I inked the edges of the …

A Fall Feeling

Hello!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Yesterday was a beautiful warm sunny day, so we decided to take a drive out to Quinn Farm for some apple picking.  We do this every Fall with the boys and we always have a great time.  We picked up some farm fresh baked apple crumble and some apple muffins too. YUMMY!!  I will be making some of my own apple crumbles soon too, with this huge bag of apples that we picked!  We were able to pick from both Cortland and Macintosh apples.  They are a little on the small side this year, but delicious nevertheless! We had a really nice day! Below  is a Fall card that I made on Friday for the Limited Supply Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. We were to use “halloween” colors but not necessarily a Halloween card. I stamped the Inkadinkado leaves in Real Rust and Memento Rich Cocoa inks on Kraft card stock.   The paper on the lower half is Bo Bunny Fall Harvest mini dots.  I added an edge of …

Crafty Creations Challenge #33

Saskia has set the Crafty Creations challenge this week and the theme is COFFEE OR TEA.   I was laughing at myself when I uploaded my card for the challenge, as I made it thinking I was making a coffee card, and I suddenly clued in that duh! there are marshmallows in the cup which means that my coffee is really a mug of hot cocoa!  Well, I just have to have my coffee, so in my mind that mug is still a cup of steaming hot coffee and those little white things, well they’re two lumps of sugar of course!! lol. Thanks for stopping by, and have a creative day!!

Mix It Up With Pink Suede

Hi everyone!! I’m so excited to tell you that my  black and white Flourishes card from a previous POST was published in the new Paper Maniac Tuesday Tidings Newsletter!   And ohmygosh!! As I’m writing this post I just went over to their challenge site to link it up here and I have found that I am  the random pick winner of their first ever challenge!!!  Wow!!  Hmmm….Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket… If you haven’t been to Paper Maniac’s fabulous new online shop you have to have a look!  I was really impressed with the variety of stamps and paper lines they carry. I made today’s card for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge FTTC33 which this week is to MIX IT UP!  I also used the colors for the CC at Splitcoaststampers which are whisper white, soft suede and pretty in pink. I mixed things up by using the argyle embossing folder for texture and pairing it up with this Basic Grey Sugared dp.  I also colored outside of the lines for this …
