Hello everyone!! I just spent an hour over at Splitcoaststampers, at a New Release “Power Hour” party for Flourishes!! I am a bit dazed…phew those posts scroll fast!! It is not easy to keep up and read all of them! It was really fun though, spending time with some lovely women from all over the world! There were even 4 or 5 of us from Canada!! EH! 🙂 I even won a $10. coupon at Flourishes…which I promptly used when I purchased the new release bundle! I’m so baaad… shopping after hours!!
I had time to play today too, since the boys were at school, and in between loads of laundry…
I made a Thanksgiving card for my Twisted Sisters challenge, and followed the limitations set by Splitcoaststampers Limited Supply Challenge. We had to use a new tool, an old stamp, a fave color combo and a not so fave embellishment.
- My least favorite embellishment…flowers
- My fave color combo (or one of) is olive green and chocolate
- My newest tool is my crop a dile (not so new anymore, but the newest nevertheless)
- My oldest stamp set is Lovely as a Tree (I had never even inked this tree!! 😦 Bad me! )
I used core’dinations core color cardstock for the upper panel. I embossed it and sanded it to reveal the core color (light green). The tree is stamped in Memento rich cocoa, then rocked and rolled in pumpkin pie ink to coat the outer leaves. I am happy with how it turned out, but I’m still not loving the flowers! Oh, well maybe they’ll grow on me. 🙂
I always love to hear what you think, thanks for taking the time to leave a word or two and for stopping by!
Very nice combination of color and card stock combination! Olive green normally is not my favorite color, but your card look really good!
