A Cutting Café Creation

Regina Easter from The Cutting Cafe is generously sponsoring Crafty Creations challenge this week!  Our design team got to play with her Bulbs for the Tree set of digital stamps and they are so lovely!   Our challenge this week is to make a Christmas card but if you have the supplies we also want to see you use the  cracked glass technique!!  It’s a great technique and the results can be just stunning. I used the cracked glass technique on the ornament after cutting it out and coloring it in with copics and a gold glitter Sakura pen.  I hope you can see the sparkle and glassy layer in the photo, because it’s pretty cool looking.   If you look closely, you’ll see that the dp behind it has a cracked look to it too.  That paper is from daisy d’s which I’ve heard is sadly not available anymore??  The other layer of dp is from Stampin’ Up! (Merry Moments) and the base is vanilla card stock.  I used a whole pack of designer gems too! …

Christmas Trees Sold Here!

Get Sketchy has a lovely sketch this week that I wanted to try.   The shape of the slope made me think of a mountainside so this is how I interpreted it. The Christmas trees are already lining the lots, ready to be brought home for Christmas, but outside of the city you can still find places that allow you to cut down your own special tree for the Holidays.  Although we usually just pick ours up from the pépinière (tree nursery), my Sister’s family always cuts down their own, and there is something so special about that I think! The slope is made by tearing a piece of Basic Grey eskimo kisses paper.  I stamped the tree from Flaky Friends after inking it up with markers on the side of the “mountain” and then added the other panel of BG paper matted with Jillibean Soup kraft paper. The sign is also stamped on the kraft paper.   I love the whimsical feeling of these papers and thought to add to it by stringing two stars on …

A Winter Wonderland!

Crafty Creations Challenge theme this week is METAL/METALLIC FINISHES.   There are many ways to incorporate metal into a card, be it with embossing in silver or gold, using metal embellishments, using metallic papers or adding  punched metal elements like I’ve done here with my snowflakes.  They are punched from a metal craft sheet.  The blossom circle background  is a silver card stock from the Metallic Stack by DCWV. The image is “She Dreams”  from DOODLES BY HOPE JACARE.  Claire will be sponsoring us this week with her very own digital image giveaway!!   She has a beautiful assortment of images in her shop and if you play along in our challenge this week, you might get to choose one along with a few other surprises! I’ve also entered this card in the Pink Persimmon Sketch challenge this week, using their fabulous sketch! Lexi’s Creations is having their first challenge ever and  wanted to see our blue an silver Christmas cards! Here’s a second card I’ve made with the theme as well. I made this card …
