A Few of my Past Easter Crafts

Hi!  I will be away visiting my MIL for a while, and only have one other post scheduled for later this week, so I thought I would leave you with a few past Easter projects that I enjoyed making.   I’ve included the links to their original posts or tutorials if something inspires you. These mini notes were quick and fun to make.  I also wrote a tutorial for the mini 3″x 3″ envelopes. You’ll find it HERE. The tutorial for the envelope gift bag is HERE, and the full post with a tutorial link for the Easter basket  is HERE. I’m so glad you stopped by, have a great week and I’ll see you soon! In Sympathy

A woman I know and speak to often at my son’s school, lost her MIL to cancer yesterday. I made this card for her tonight.  It has been painful and difficult to learn of each stage of the progression of her cancer, as my own MIL was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer and has been following the same path jut a couple of months behind her. It is a blessing that my family and I are leaving today to visit with my MIL.  She is still in her home with palliative care, so we will be able to spend some much needed time together.  We spent time with her over Christmas and she was still quite well, although very tired, but she has weakened a great deal since.  She is strong in spirit though and that is what really is important. I used the new F4A1 challenge on SCS to help me with this card…we were to use texture, patterned paper and a color we do not use much.   NAVY is definitely a …

Cut it Out!!

Cut it out and pop it up!!  That’s the Crafty Creations Challenge I am setting out for you this week! We are using “Home Sweet Home”, a sweet image from The Digi Kitty on our DT cards this week. Here’s PEGGY’s sweet card: And my own card for the challenge… I stamped the circle/leaves from Unity Stamps as a background for this sweet little saltbox home from The Digi Kitty.  The leaves are popped up, as are the bushes, roof and door of the house, using foam adhesive dots.  The house is colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Flourishes Cottage Home set. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you will join us in this week’s CRAFTY CREATIONS CHALLENGE.

A Real Treasure

The Featured Stamper on SCS this week is JovialJudi (Paper Rose Petals) and let me tell you, she is a real treasure!  Her gallery is full of gems too.  This is the card I made inspired by one of hers. I used Bermuda Bay card stock for the base card and stamped on white card stock for a CAS look.  The stamp and sentiment is from Unity (Treasure to Me) and the tiny butterflies are from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.  I colored the flowers with Copics: B01, BG13, BG15 and the butterflies were stamped in Ranger Broken China Distress Ink and Bermuda Bay SU! ink. Thanks so much for stopping in and have a creative day!!

Love is in the Air

Hello!  I am feeling much better today, thanks for your uplifting words while I’ve been sick and low on mojo! It’s time for our weekly Crafty Creations Challenge!! Rose has set the challenge this week and it is to use any form of stitching in our creations.  I am not much for sewing, but I got creative and added little cross stitches around the border of my blossom nesties. I’ve used the sketch from Our Creative Corner as my launching point.  The blossom nesties were used to mat the cut out image and popped up on foam adhesive tape.  The image is colored with Copics.  I pierced the holes for the stitches and then used embroidery floss and a needle to stitch them. The button is stitched too.   The two staples were added for interest in the top left corner.  I’m so happy with how it turned out, after feeling in such a slump lately! Birthday Cheer!

I love this sweet image from Philomena O’Neil. I recently came across her digital images at Phindy’s Place and I am in awe of how cute, creative and detailed they are!  I decided to make a birthday card with this adorable image called “It’s All Yours!”, and inspired by the challenges listed below. I colored the image with Copics and used Basic Grey Nook and Pantry dp for the background.  The card stock is Prism paper.  I love the texture and weight of this card stock and have been using it more lately.  The sentiment is a Stampin’ Up stamp, stamped and punched out twice with a circle punch and a scallop circle punch to layer the two colors. Challenges: Stamp Something: “Something Cute” C.R.A.F.T challenge: “Digi colouring” Thanks for stopping by,  and for your encouraging words while I’ve been complaining about being sick! Have a creative day!!

Waiting For Spring

Hello! I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine’s Day!! I’ve made this simple card for the “Spring” CAS challenge on SCS.  I’m still not feeling back to myself, since I’ve had this throat infection/flu.  We had to cancel our Valentine’s plans for dinner at Kaizen (a fabulous Japanese restaurant) on Saturday night.  I was so disappointed, but I knew I would not have the energy to go.  I did go out briefly with my boys to watch them skate yesterday.  My son so wanted me to see him as it was only his third time on skates and he was so proud to be going around on his own!  With fever on and off,  Des has been taking care of me and the boys, and I’ve basically been sitting in my P.J’s coloring in some images and watching the Olympics. I am so excited that I got to see Montreal Quebec’s own Alexandre Bilodeau bring home the GOLD !! Stamp: Unity stamp co.
