A woman I know and speak to often at my son’s school, lost her MIL to cancer yesterday. I made this card for her tonight. It has been painful and difficult to learn of each stage of the progression of her cancer, as my own MIL was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer and has been following the same path jut a couple of months behind her.
It is a blessing that my family and I are leaving today to visit with my MIL. She is still in her home with palliative care, so we will be able to spend some much needed time together. We spent time with her over Christmas and she was still quite well, although very tired, but she has weakened a great deal since. She is strong in spirit though and that is what really is important.
I used the new F4A1 challenge on SCS to help me with this card…we were to use texture, patterned paper and a color we do not use much. NAVY is definitely a color I do not turn to often, but thought it fitting for this card. I’ve used Basic Grey Boxer dp, and white card stock. The card is 4 1/4″ square. I embossed the background with a cuttlebug embossing folder and the butterfly is cut using the Cricut and Home Decor cartridge at 1 1/2″. The frame for the SU! sentiment is cut using A Child’s Year cartridge (card outdoor1) at 21/2″ in white and 2 3/4 in navy.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, you are so appreciated!!
