Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge is asking us to bring our “vintage style” to the table! For some reason, I reach for vanilla, or yellow when i think “vintage”. So this is how I interpreted this vintage challenge… Everything is distressed and sponged using Tim Holtz Distress Tea dye ink. I even sponged some tea dye ink on the lace ribbon, which gave it a nice tattered look, that I like. The button is mother of pearl from my stash of vintage findings that an antique shop owner had given me years ago. I cut the bird and frame with my cricut and Home Decor cartridge at 2 inches and sponged it too. Stamps: The sentiment and corner flourish is from Flourishes Timeless Quotes set. Ink: Distress ink tea dye paper: Basic Grey Nook and Pantry, vanilla cardstock Accessories: vintage button, cream lace ribbon, distress tool, Cricut, home decor cartridge Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great weekend! Deena Advertisements
Soooooo….what do you think of the new look? Did you notice? Of course you did. I had a bit of a blog identity crisis yesterday and spent waaaaaay too long trying to find a new “look”. It was like I was at Payless trying on every shoe in the shop! (I would say Nine West but they don’t even have that many shoes in their shop) . It was like getting ready for a night out, and tossing every piece of clothing I own onto the floor in frustration!! It was like standing in line at Starbucks and drawing a blank because I couldn’t for the life of me decide if I wanted a non fat vanilla latte or a 3 pump no whip mocha!!! I finally decided. Not confidently. Soooooo…if you like it, great! If you don’t like it, you might as well not tell me. Because I’m not going to change it for a while. Nope, can’t do it. Would you like to see some pretty daisies? I thought you might! 🙂 Stamps: …
Yup, those are my kind of drinks! This week’s Crafty Creations challenge is to make our own background paper! FUN!! I decided to make a brick wall bg for this uptown girl, for an urban chic look. I stamped the brick wall (Prima stamps) four times to fill my 4″ x 4″ square on glossy paper. When the ink was dry, I sanded it vertically, then horizontally until there was no shine left. It gives it a cool texture! I sponged on some soft blue ink in various spots for some added depth, and sanded again both ways. The stamp is from the Stamping Boutique and they are generously sponsoring us this week! Have a look at the challenge blog for some fab ideas on making your own backgrounds! Hope you’ll join us!! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

It’s time for a new Crafty Creations challenge set by the lovely Claire. This week we are being challenged to distress our creations. Our fabulous sponsor is SoftPencil Digital stamps!! Join us at Crafty Creations and show us your distressed best! I used bermuda bay as my base with Bo Bunny Gypsy Spice dp. The brown/blue panel is sanded Core’dinations card stock.
