Spring Showers

Hi all, I will be away for a bit over the Easter weekend.  Unfortunately it’s not for happy reasons.  We will be attending my Aunt’s funeral on Monday April 5th, as she passed away on Tuesday.  Our family was very close with theirs (my Mom’s sister) as we were growing up, and she will be dearly missed. This has all happened so very quickly. I am so glad that I made a trip just a little over a week ago to see her and her family.   We had no idea that she would be taken from us so soon, even though we knew she had terminal liver and lung cancer. It had only just been diagnosed over the last few weeks.  Our consolation is that she has not had to suffer for long.   I will always remember her as a wonderful person; always finding the best in others and always giving wholly of herself.  She was truly a beautiful person and a very special Aunt to me.

Earlier in the week I made a card for the Twisted Sisters Challenge on SCS today.  Anyone can play, just add keyword TSC0402 when uploading on SCS,  This week’s challenge is to make a card having to do with “rain” and please, no pink! The hostess this week has a strong aversion to it. 😉

I wanted my card to be bright and cheerful to remind us that May flowers will follow the April showers!!

The base card is yellow Prism textured cardstock. I used the spots and dots folder to emboss the background with my cuttlebug.  The umbrella is die cut with the Cricut and  A Child’s Year cartridge.  I used Nook and Pantry Basic Grey paper for the left panel, and for the Umbrella, My Mind’s Eye quite contrary dp.

A very happy Easter to those of you celebrating!

Peaceful and happy days to all of you!

  1. Deena, wanted to say a little hello, and send a hug your way. You know I love you. Keep cool, my friend. Hope to see you soon. I will be thinking of you this week-end. Hugs. Peggy
