Nice Ride

My husband recently bought himself  a 2005  papaya orange  Audi  TT coupe quatro.  He’d been longing for a sports car for a while and  after struggling for some time with his practical self, gave in to the pleasure of owning a second car built for speed and performance, instead of child car seat capacity and luggage space.  Although he did ask my opinion, I have never been interested in cars, nor do I know a thing about them, but I knew it meant a lot to him, so I left it to him to decide what to do.  He originally wanted it in yellow, but found this great papaya orange instead!  At first I really didn’t like the idea of the yellow or any other bright color, but now I have to admit that I think the orange is a really cool look for this car!

This week’s Crafty Creations Challenge was set by Claire (hopejacare) to the theme of  TRANSPORTATION.  So, I thought I’d make a card to congratulate Des on the purchase of his rather awesome car!

His favourite color is yellow and the car is as I’ve said papaya orange, so that set the colors for my card.

I used a Hope Jacare doodle image that Claire provided for the challenge.  Her fabulous images can be found at Stitchybear and I did it Creations Boutique.

The embossing is a Tim Holtz collage by Sizzix, and the image is colored with Y08 adn R12 Copics.  “Enjoy the Ride” sentiment is from Flourishes Stamps. “Congrats” is from Stampin’ Up! (Say it with Scallops).

I hope you’ll join us over at Crafty Creations! See you there!

  1. Such a fun card! I love the yellow you used for the card base and then embossed. The z fold is cool! Great use of the challenge.

Deena – it is fab in yellow and I’m sure your husband will love the card (perhaps not as much as his new car however….) I can sympathise as Reuben purchased a turquoise TVR this year – he certainly has a smile on his face when he’s been out in it! Cheers Claire x
