Cricut Design Studio Santa Hat

I have been playing with the Cricut Design Studio, trying to learn the ins and outs of it.  It allows me to design my cards and projects on my computer, then cut the necessary pieces once I have everything worked out.  I love how this lets me visually create, and it saves me wasting paper because I’m sizing everything on the page exactly as I want it before cutting anything.  No guessing! Love it!!  Besides that, I can save all my templates to simply cut the same pieces another time to easily recreate the card or project as many times as I like…no more writing down (or forgetting to write down) all the different sizes that I cut this and that at! I made this santa hat card for Christmas, using  the Joys of the Season cartridge. I started by welding the hat image together to create a card base.  Then I added the dotted dp layers, the mistletoe branches and the sentiment.   The snowflakes were cut at 1″.    I made the same flipped cuts …

Christmas Peace

Christmas is only a month away!  Are you ready? I was so happy when Amy, our challenge hostess this week, set the challenge for Crafty Creations to Christmas cards!  Crafty Creations is challenging us to make Christmas cards/creations, so take this time to get another card done, and enter it HERE. Blackleaf  Digital Studios is our sponsor! Here’s what I did with one of the lovely images from Blackleaf Studios. I used the color combo challenge colors from SCS ( Chocolate, cherry, crumb cake), added some gold spritz to the printed image, and embellishes with some cricut die cuts from the  Joys of the Season cricut cartridge. The dps is from Kaisercraft’s Dear Santa collection. Challenges: Crafty Creations – Christmas Fantabulous Cricut– Thankful for….peace Thanks for stopping by today!  See you again soon! Deena

Christmas Cheer!

Only a little over 5 weeks to go before Christmas and this is  my first Christmas card for the year!!  I have to get busy don’t I?? This week’s Crafty Creations Challenge inspired me to make this Holiday card using a festive image from Flourishes.  The challenge is making cards with beautiful insides, set by Jaime.   I don’t normally decorate the inside of my cards, so this was a great challenge for me to change things  up a bit! The snowflakes are cut using Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge and I’ve added some dew drops to their centers.  I’ve sprayed the snowflakes and the image with tsukineko shimmer spritz for some holiday sparkle! Papers: Bobunny Midnight Frost dp, white cs, rich razzleberry I followed the sketch for the Midnight Madness Sketch challenge and made it a Christmas card with an image from Flourishes’  Sweets of the Season set for their Timeless Tuesday Challenge. Thanks for stopping by! Deena

Clean and Simple Buttons

This week’s Crafty Creations challenge theme is BUTTONS!  I wanted to make a CAS (clean and simple) card for today and I thought these little red buttons were the perfect pop of color needed for contrast against the turquoise and white. Other Challenges: Teapot Challenge #119 (daisies) SCS color challenge (red white turquoise) I also wanted to share a couple of photos of my niece’s wedding that we attended a month ago… Kim and Adam Stanhope My little sweetie My boys with their cousin The cutest flower girls ever   It was a beautiful day!!  I’m so happy for them!! Fables and FairyTales

Lets escape our realities for a short while by making cards  that are fairy tale themed! Fables and Fairy Tales is the theme I set this week for our Crafty Creations challenge.  I chose this adorable cuddle dragon from Meljen’s Designs.  Meljen’s Designs are just gorgeous, and they are sponsoring our challenge this week!  The DT made some really cute creations, so stop by and have a look! My wee Puff the magic dragon is colored with copics and the scalloped square is cut with the cricut.  I love  the center point button on my cricut to get the shape cut around the printed image! It works so well with digital images. The papers are Basic Grey dps and C’ordinations embossed cardstock in light green.  The card base is suede cardstock from SU! I had a very busy couple of days and it was so fun to escape reality for a while.  I hummed “Puff the Magic Dragon” to myself the whole time I was making this card! Thanks so much for stopping by!!
