I had fun pleating the accent flower for this Mother’s Day card. It reminded me of when we used to make these at school for something to do at lunch hour. Peggy (the Nutty Cardmaker) and I were shopping at the local SBS when we saw these trendy little things for sale. I just couldn’t bring myself to buy them though, knowing that I could (fairly) easily make them! lol I did find it to be a little tedious because to get a nice tight pleat it has to be folded accordion style with the folds only 3mm apart. The paper is cut to 3/4″ wide and is 8 inches long, folded as I’ve said at every 1/8 of an inch (3mm) . I do love the finished look, though I just can’t see myself making a bunch of these. I guess my lunch hours are not quite as dull anymore! 😉
Have any of you tried making these recently? What do you think?
Awwww, Deena you are my hero! Look at that little pleated flower. WEll, yeah, mine never looked as pretty as this one. I will try it out though, you inspired me…again! :)Peggy
