Proud of my Little Lion

My son is just finishing up a 10 week reading program in French as a second language and he reached a level beyond the target for the program!  We are so proud of him and I thought I’d make him a bookmark as a little gift.  His birthday is this week too, he’s turning 7!  I always give my boys a few special books as graduation gifts at the end of the school year,  so I know he’ll be happy to have it.

This week at Crafty Creations Peggy has given us a themed OVER THE RAINBOW challenge inspired by the song from Wizard of Oz.   Perfect! My son LOVES rainbows!

The image is COURAGEOUS CARL from our sponsor this week; Whimsy Stamps!   I drew in the rainbow and clouds myself as I didn’t have one to use.  The back is stamped with a “This book belongs to” sentiment from Unity  and ” You amaze me” from Verve stamps.

Stop by Crafty Creations Challenges to see all the fabulous creations that the team worked on and join us in the challenge! It’s a FUN one!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

LOve the fact that you award your boys with books as a graduation gift as they complete each grade…what a great way to promote reading during the summer months…this from a former reading teacher. Adding the bookmark is an added plus that will help encourage reading. Thanks!

Well, I sure love this little Courageous Carl but your son much more! LOL I know he will just love this especially made by mom. I never thought of using a rainbow on my card…isn’t that just funny. Hugs mon amie, xo

Hi Claire! I’ve used prismacolor pencils. they do give a sheen to the image, but I think the lighting of the pic accentuates it a lot more.
