CAS Birthday

It’s a CAS challenge!  Crafty Creations is looking for CAS (clean and simple) cards for the challenge theme this week.  We have a wonderful new sponsor too! And my card… I’ve used an Elizabeth Mae’s digital image…darling isn’t she?   I colored her with copics and added a strip of embossed swiss dots pink paper, a sentiment and some tiny pink threaded buttons.  Clean and Simple! Come have a peek at the other creations at Crafty Creations challenge blog.  See you there! Deena

Autumn Thank You

How was your Monday?  Aside from wrestling with a battery operated can opener for 20 minutes to A: get it to open the can  and when that failed…B: to get it to release from the can…which was also unsuccessful… my Monday was pretty good.    Seriously. I can laugh about it now…the opener is in the garbage along with the can it wouldn’t release itself from.  Yup. Modern Family meets Big Bang theory.  <grin> I made a card using a new image I drew…I promised you something more  in keeping with the season right?! A pumpkin bouquet  makes a lovely Thanksgiving table centerpiece!   I colored the Autumn floral arrangement with copics : R12, R14, YR68, E23, E31 E33, YG 93, YG95. The edges are inked with dried marigold Distress Ink. I’ve entered the CR84FN39 color challenge using YELLOW, BROWN, AND ORANGE. I’m also playing in the MAKE IT MONDAY  linky party (always anything goes) Would you like the image?   I’d love for you to have it!  Just click on the LINK below the image to …

Margarita Mouse Pool

A quick post with this BIRTHDAY CARD  I made using an adorable Phindy’s Place image for their challenge this week! The image is called “Join the Party!”   I’ve used opposites on the color wheel in red and green and toned it down with lots of white, for a festive birthday cheer card.  The birthday sentiment is a french “Happy Birthday” from Bonnidee in MTL. Quebec.  Can you see the glitter around the rim? PHINDY”S PLACE CHALLENGE: opposites on the color wheel Thanks for stopping by!  Deena

New Release Images at Squigglefly

Just a quick note to let you know that there are new images up at Squigglefly…including three of my own. 🙂 Marlene has 6 totally adorable new images up for Halloween!  I was not so on the ball with the whole ‘in keeping with the season’ thing!  My images are more about the everyday moments I guess.   I will have more ‘timely’ images soon though!   I have just finished sketching some Autumn themed images; I’ll share those just as soon as I can! I was thinking of ways that we might use these, and thought that they would be sweet additions to some scrapbook pages…of course I don’t scrapbook (one of a long list of unchecked things to do!) So I am counting on some of you scrappers to let me know what you think, and share your ideas!   I will be using these on my cards of course…already have lots of ideas for those, (just never enough time)  but I’m always happy to hear yours too!!  These new images are available at  …

A Sketchy Squigglefly Challenge

This week at Squigglefly Marlene (our super fearless and funny leader) has given us a fabulous sketch to follow!   I had a ton of fun working on this sketch  with my friend Peggy over for the better part of Friday!  We not only had time to make cards, but also to go out to lunch and head over to my local scrapbook store!  A fabulous day!  Thanks to Des (hubby extraordinaire) for picking up the boys from school giving us plenty of time to play!!  Could a girl have it any better?!  I think not. Head on over to Squigglefly to play the SKETCH CHALLENGE and don’t forget to use any of your favourite Squigglefly images for a chance to win!!  For my card I used a Lulu Lancaster image called Gothic Bouquet and colored her up with Copics.  I think she is so sweet with those sad puppy dog eyes. I thought it would make a good “get well” card for a friend who’s been really sick for a couple of weeks now.   I …

Shall We Dance?

Hello!!  Have I mentioned…..that my blog readers are the best!! You have all been so great with your kind comments about my images! I want you to know how very much I appreciate it.  It is so encouraging to know that you like them and want to use them on your own projects. My first ever  ‘freebie’ was downloaded almost 400 times!!  Pleasantly surprised is an understatement!  Now I can’t wait to see what you all do with it! Today I made an anniversary card for the COLOR THROWDOWN  challenge.  I thought these colours  would work beautifully with a romantic image, so I used my “Shall We Dance?” silhouette image.   I sketched the image while watching Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing, in some old movie clips.   I was so inspired by their graceful movement and  thought it would translate well as a silhouette. Shall We Dance? image is available at A Creative Need. I’m so glad you had a moment to stop by!! Have a creative day! Deena
