Inspired Artisans: AMY of ROSIE DOG ORIGAMI

WELCOME BACK  to another INSPIRED ARTISANS FRIDAY FEATURE!!   Please help me in welcoming AMY FOLDER here to tell us a bit about her craft today!   Tell us a little about yourself… My name is Amy, and I am trying to sell origami.   At the moment, there’s not much more to it than that. Well, there is a bit more to tell ;-D I graduated college a couple of years ago with a degree in ceramics, and have been trying to find a job since (we all know how easy it is for artists to find a steady paycheck in this economy!). Ironically, however, after an unfortunate series of family hospital stays, I’ve found myself more interested in nursing as a career option. At the moment, I am in a sort-of limbo between my ceramics career and a future career as a nurse. That being said, I still have no income, so I live at home. I love my parents to death, but I think everyone needs something to keep them from going …

Kindy Garden Time

I had the pleasure  of playing with a kindy garden image by Megan Tucker for the Crafty Creations challenge this week!  The challenge is a fun and easy one since it’s a FREE FOR ALL! I used Mojo monday sketch #249  for this card as it seemed to fit perfectly with these papers and the image.  I love these papers by the way, they’re all from First Edition paper pad: Hideaway.   I colored ‘ballerina’ with copics in tea rose and pale pinks, and added some teal gems to her hair and top, and the bottom corner of the card. I hope you all have a creative day and don’t forget to stop by Crafty Creations for the challenge this week!    Deena x

Inspired Artisans: Michelle of SCRAPSECRETS

Hello!!  Please help me in welcoming  MICHELE for today’s INSPIRED ARTISANS FRIDAY FEATURE! Tell us a little about yourself…  I am a sales rep by day and a crafter by night. I started scrapbooking a couple of years ago when I was looking for a unique present for my goddaughter. SInce then, I have created scrapbooks for friends for important occasions – 30th birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, anniversaries and engagements. I even got a chance to be a photographer at a friend’s wedding and made an album for them! Last Christmas I decided to make my own Christmas cards. I got such wonderful comments, but the one I seemed to hear a lot of was, you should sell these. A friend of mine offered me a business plan – start slow by writing a blog, then open a twitter account, then start selling. And I did just that. It took me awhile to get up the courage to sell my cards online, but I opened up my Etsy shop for business in May 2012!  …
