Here we are already more than halfway through the month of February, and time for some more inspiration from the ACN team! GAIL is sharing this stunning pop up card! What a wonderful background she has created here for these ACN WOLVES. KREN has created a magical look with her wintry background in hues of purple and greens while adding the fibers as a textural element. …and I paint spattered my background. Inspired by the Snow wolves of the Canadian arctic, I went for a wintry white and blue. Come and join us for the ‘WILD THING’ CHALLENGE! We can’t wait to see what you will do! You will find the WOLVES image and other nature inspired images at the A Creative Need shop!
Hi everyone. I have a quick CAS card to share that I’ve made for three CAS challenges. Yay! They got my mojo going today! First up CAS(E) this Sketch: and Addicted to CAS: Code Word COFFEE and last but not least CASology code word: JUMP (as in…coffee jump starts my day! Aah….COFFEE! Do not come between me and my cup of coffee! JOIN ME, by all means, but do not come between us! Coffee can comfort me, uplift me, give me courage to go on with my day and even fuel me creatively! YES. IT. CAN. I will always stand behind my cup of coffee. I will never give it up. Anything I say or do before my morning cup does not count. I admit, I have had to ask forgiveness for what has transpired before my first cup. I have laughed and cried over coffee. I have discussed philosophy over coffee. I have solved many a problem with a cup of coffee in hand. AND I have made more than a few great friends over coffee! Yes, of course, this card was made while enjoying my cup of coffee! Here are a few mini VALENTINES that I made this week… I’ve made my own paper for these minis… you can see them all below. SPONGE DOTS 6×6 digital paper pack Making digital papers is something new that I’ve been working on. I enjoy playing with different textures and colors and trying them out in paper form. These were created using a digital sponge brush and creating a pattern that I could then re use in multiple colors in photoshop. Three of the 5 papers are on a neutral color textured background. When creating the papers, I keep in mind that although they can be used in digital form, I may want to print them too, so I choose simple designs and less ink intense patterns and colors. I will have more to show you soon! Have a creative day!! Deena
Hello friends! I thought I’d share how this ‘Wild Thing’ CAS card for this month’s A Creative Need challenge was made. I was playing with a masking/paint technique. I masked the moon with a circle punch and painted over it with two shades of yellow, then while still a little wet, stuck clear wide packaging tape over it and peeled it off again to give it a worn look. When dry, I scanned it so I could use it as a digital element, as seen here. Using My Memories Software I simply placed my A Creative Need Wolves image and resized it to the size I wanted, then added in the image of my masked moon and layered it over the wolves. All that was left was to add in my sentiment. So simple, and I’m very happy with the result! Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!! CAS-ual Fridays’ challenge this week has gone OVER THE EDGE! And I just had to join in! I colored the ACN LOVE BIRDS image with copics and cut them out. I placed the birds on a watercolor background that I painted using Corel Painter Essentials. Then, I punched a simple border for the bottom and added a splash of color with the felt foam flowers and buttons. I also added a tab ribbon in the bottom right for Splitcoaststamper’s challenge ‘tags &tabs’ that I think helped balance out the over the edge look of the birds at the top left.
