My sweet friend recently gave me several rolls of Goddess Tape! Lucky me!! I had some time to play today, and made a Spring card. This Decorative Tape is gorgeous! It’s called Turn a New Leaf; I just love the pretty Spring colors and leaf pattern. TIP: To get a nice clean punched edge and not have the tape stick to your punches, 🙂 stick the tape to white cardstock, then punch out your border and shapes.I also made some super simple magnets. All you need is the decorative tape, a magnetic sheet (Elmer’s or Avery) and some paper punches… Hear what others are saying about this card! Have any of you tried Corel Painter? I am playing with digital water coloring in the 30 day trial version of Corel Painter X3 right now and I have to say that I love the ‘real watercolor’ brushes! I was inspired to play in this week’s SCS IC438 so I painted these flowers to get a feel for the different brushes and I’m happy with the results. What do you think? I am really a beginner of course so don’t judge to harshly! 🙂 I have a lot to learn, but I still think it’s pretty! Traditionally, I’ve painted with acrylics, but I just love the look of water colors and painting and blending colors is so soothing to me, so I thought this was a great time to practice. I used my new digital stamp illustration as a starting point for the painting and this is what I ended up with. Now, if only I could afford to buy the software! Here’s the Mother’s Day CAS card I made with it too… and finally, here is …

I was starting to feel like Spring might never come! It has been so cold for this time of year. BUT today I saw a sweet sign of SPRING! A bunny sat in the sun in my backyard all day, only hopping around occasionally to dig his nose into the grass for food. So CUTE! Today’s post is a mixed media digital art piece that I made inspired by JOURNAL 52‘s Week 14 Prompt was RAIN or SHINE. It rained all day yesterday, so I was truly inspired to make this! HELLO SPRING!! Do you recognize the image? It is one of my earlier sketches that I digitized for use as a digi stamp. It is one of my original favorites, probably because of my love for coffee! I used the image here as a reference for my painting in Corel Painter. I used a captured bristle brush and smeary palette knife with some blending tools for most of the painting and detail work. The backgrounds were created in Photoshop with use of coffee stain brushes and layered colors in cream, orange, and blue. I so enjoy painting like this. I would love to hear what you think.
