I was inspired by this week’s CAS-ual Friday challenge to make a CAS card using the prompt “THREE THIRDS”. Three Thirds? The idea is to use three of something,OR just 1/3 of the card, and keep it clean and simple. and also the CASology challenge keyword “SPLASH” which made me think of watercoloring! The image is actually a large digital watercolor painting I did 2 days ago, miniaturized here on a blue paint spattered background and with an added “Miss You” sentiment… “MISS YOU” I tried to use only a third of the card and the sentiment is tripled…it’s hard to see the third ‘miss you’ as it fades out… Very Soft and pretty, but hard to capture with my camera!
I hope all you lovely Mothers had a wonderful day yesterday! My boys always make mother’s day very special. My husband made us all some french toast and bacon for a special Mother’s Day brunch, we sipped his homemade sangria in the afternoon and he made us all a wonderful bbq supper of corn on the cob and chicken! Yummy. I ate and drank well all day and he cleaned everything up too. He didn’t let me lift a finger to help with anything. Which of course meant I had time to play! I played a little street hockey with my boys, but what I really mean to say is that I had time to play with my new toy that they gave me for Mother’s day! Painter x3!!! Whoot!! My youngest son gave me a beautiful piece of mail art with a sweet letter inside that he had written himself on the computer, and both my children gave me many hugs and “I love you’s” which really meansthe most to me!! Am I not the luckiest Mom in the …
“Find your eternity in each moment…”- Henry David Thoreau Sadly, this week I find myself in need of sending not only one, but two sympathy cards. I am reminded that our lives are fragile, that we are not meant to be here ‘forever’, and that we should live each day in appreciation of what it has to offer. We should be ever present, because we will always find, no matter what our age, that yearning for our past or looking always to our future, will only result in our missing the actual moment of our living. My Brother in Law’s Father passed away at 98 years old. We tell ourselves that he lived a good, long life…surely dying in your own bed at that age is not such a bad thing….lucky to have been still in his own home and living on his own terms. But the sad truth is that no matter what age he was, for those he leaves behind, it is no less sad or difficult to have to say goodbye, and to accept that he is with them no more. …
