Vintage Style Coin Envelopes with Video Tutorial

After seeing some cool coin envelopes for sale at my SBS, I just had to try making my own!  I used Kraft cardstock and black Memento ink, handcut the envelopes which was super easy, and then added eyelets with a punched circle base to wind and secure my twine for the closure.  They measure 3 1/2″ x 2″.   I can think of so many great ways to use these…scrapbook pages, art journals, mini gift packaging, to hold tags and little notes….the list goes on! I want you all to share in the fun with these cute little coin envelopes so I’ve included a video tutorial.  I really hope you like it! Let me know what you think; I’m happy to get some constructive criticism,  this is the first video of this kind that I’ve made!  I would also love to know if you do try this out!  I think they are fun to make and I plan on making many of them! For anyone not interested in making these on their own (I know there …

In Color

Hello! Half way through the week and so looking forward to the long weekend! I get to stamp with a friend I met through SCS on Monday! I can’t wait! She does some gorgeous color washes on her cards and her cards are so unique and beautiful! If you’re heading on over to SCS, have a peek at her gallery! Miss Apple is her Nom de Plume! Today I have two cards to share with you! The first one is the card I made yesterday for the color challenge on SCS. The colors we were challenged to use were Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, and Soft Sky. Well I love this combo! Who’d a thought? I decided not to use any dp on this one. I simply stamped the base cream card with my CHF Floral Backgrounder in Ruby Red. I went in with ink and a blender pen to give it some depth by adding color to a few random flowers and leaves. The main image is a gorgeous bloom also from CHF. I inked …

Dont’ Forget To Kiss!

Kiss the stamps you love! Hello! I’m back from a few days away. Did you miss me?? 😉 I was visiting my Mom and my Grandma, and then my Sis who lives an hour away from them, in Ontario. I had a good visit with them all! It is my Sister’s birthday today, so I had brought her gift with me…I’m trying to encourage her to stamp, so I gave her some SU stamps, ink and glitter. She has done some scrapbooking and is now trying out a few cards, so she was very happy with the gift. Yay! It would be so fun if she started making cards too! I just wish we lived a bit closer so we could stamp together more often! So, I did promise you all a card tutorial and that will be up in the next day or two! I have to take the boys to swimming today and get some neglected chores done before the work week starts again, so I don’t have time to post it today. …

Backgrounders are a beautiful thing!

Click Images to Enlarge Cornish Heritage Farms is having a week of Backgrounder challenges! I just LOVE their backgrounders! If you have not had a chance to see these beautiful stamps, you really should take a few minutes and head on over to CHF to have a peek!! They are a full 5 3/4″ by 4 1/4″ ! This means you can stamp an entire card front with it! They have 90 to choose from and are adding more every month! They are wonderful for creating your own decorative paper. There are so many ways to use them too, as I am finding out by participating in the Backgrounder Blitz! They are also giving away a free bg stamp each day to one lucky winner! All you have to do is try the challenge and link it up with them or post it in your own gallery on their site. You can have a look at mine while your over there checking out the backgrounders! 🙂 For the card above, the challenge was to use …
