Stamps: Justrite classic circle stamper III, medium culz font, Special Occasions font, Paper: Whisper White, Pink, Making Memories Cheeky Collection , groovy guava Ink: china blue Tim Holtz, Pink Pirouette Accessories: flower brads, cuttlebug, flower dies, circle cutter system Thanks so much for stopping by!  You know I love your company!!

Flowers for a Friend

Go Jessie!! Jessie Rone (Can you Say…Addicted) set today’s color challenge on SCS!  This fab combo pulled me out of a head cold stupor, and inspired me to make something that shouted spring!!  I needed to be transported to that warm and sunny place and it did me good. I layered Garden Green with Pacific Point and Baja Breeze.  I embossed the baja panel with swiss dots in my cuttlebug.  The flowers are mostly punched, but one is an SU! die cut.  The mini buttons are really brads!     I made this for a friend’s birthday and monogramed it with her initial, using Justrite’s Special Occasion font, wooden stamper and a cute border from the DIY monogram stamper kit. The dp is from Memory Makers Funky vintage Lizzie pad. Did I manage to bring you some sense of Spring? I hope I brought you a touch of sunshine! I keep telling myself that spring is right around the corner, right!! Well, my congestion is getting worse and my head feels heavy, so I am off to …

A New Year’s Eve Wedding

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, family and friends! We had a really fun family Christmas Eve and day at home, then on to my sister’s and then my mom’s house for a few days after Christmas.   I even got to see my big brother and his family at my mom’s, as they drove in from Stratford Ontario, and we all had a great visit!  The boys had a great time, especially with their cousins.  It’s really fun to see everyone together,  and having fun.  I only wish we could do it more often! I am so looking forward to tomorrow evening!  It will be the first New Year’s Eve, in quite a while, that we will really  celebrate in style!   Our friends are getting married!!  What a party it will be!   We are staying over at the hotel after the reception, because it will be very late and next to impossible to get a taxi home.  So we are really making a night of it!  The boys will …

JustRite Cerificate Holders

With the Holidays fast approaching I am in full on Christmas card mode!   I hope there are no birthdays that I am forgetting this month, because I just don’t have time to make any! 🙂 I made these gift certificate holders that are basically the same as the gift card holders I made a few posts back, except that they are longer  and wider.  Making them is easy; just a few folds and they are ready to decorate!   Half the decorating is done for you when you use gorgeous papers too! I used some Stampin’ Up  Wintergreen dp  for a more masculine look.  I need these holders for tonight, as we are having  our Christmas employee dinner party and  we give out certificates to their spouses.  It will be fun, and I am looking forward to some good food and good company! How To: Depending on the length and width of your certificates, since I’m not sure that they are all a standard size, you may have to adjust the the measurements slightly. 6″ x …

Just 2 Say…

THANKS! I thought I would combine a few challenges with today’s card.  The Limited Supplies challenge asked us to use pink, limit the card to no more than 3 layers, 3 embellishments, 3 ink colors, etc.  And making a Thank you card was a very popular theme this week…wonder why?? 🙂   So I had these challenges in mind at the same time:  Sharon’s Stamp Simply challenge and Bridgett’s challenge too!! I used this cute little sheep from Stampin’ Up’s PUN FUN and my JUSTRITE rectangular stamper with the Curlz fonts in medium and large, as well as the number font.  I am in no way affiliated with JustRite, but I have to keep saying how great i find these stamps!! I think I love them most for their versatility!! I can create any sentiment I want and soooo easily! It’s not like I have to stamp out the letters individually like I used to, if I wanted to create a unique sentiment!  Anyhoo… Can you see the fluffy white on the sheep? I used …

Carousel Note Card

Hello!  It’s official now, I have to hibernate!!  It has started snowing here!  The first real snowfall of the year for us! And for me, that means it is time to cozy in for the winter! 🙂   Oh, alright, maybe not, I guess I have to go outside for silly reasons like picking up my sons from school… but I would hibernate if I could!! Today’s card is made using two Carousel Notes from Stampin’ Up! These notes are wonderful. They are 5 7/8 in diameter and come in three of the new SU In Colors! along with 30 scrumptious chocolate chip envelopes.  I attached them with a mini flower brad so that the top swivels open to reveal the inside sentiment and lovely Basic Grey dp! I can’t get enough of these beautiful papers!!  Maybe I could line my walls with them?! I love how the embossing looks on this.  I just used the With Love embossing borders folder, and repositioned it across the circle of yellow decorative paper a few times. Easy! The …

A Crafty Creations Alteration!

This week’s theme for our Crafty Creations blog challenge is…yes you guessed it… altered items!  And Friday’s SCS limited Supply Challenge was to make something “chocolate”.  It could be color, embellishment, theme, anything, as long as you could call it chocolate!  I combined these two challenges for this project. I made another box project for the LSC challenge too, but I decided not to blog about them yet, as I will make a mini tutorial for these easy acetate boxes and have it posted by next week, (if any of you were looking for them on my blog from SCS). “Anything Altered” is the theme set by Jaime.  I decided to alter the box of chocolates that my 7 year old gave me, along with flowers, last weekend! Isn’t that the sweetest??  He went out to get some groceries with his Dad because I was too sick to go (stomach virus, yuck!!) and he convinces his Daddy that I should get flowers and chocolates!!  Des is a sweetie himself, so of course he agrees.  Yes, …

Baby it’s Cold Outside

Ooh baby it’s cold outside…winter is coming folks, whether we like it or not! I always think of the song Baby it’s Cold Outside when I hear or say those words. I love the version with Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan.  Follow the link for a classic record player version.  Something about the scratchy record that just adds to the feel of the song! Yes, it really is cold today, there were even a few flakes this morning! I had to take out the mits and hats, and I realized I will have to shop for more.  I always think I have plenty of time to get these things, and then I end up scrambling to buy  winter coats, mits and hats all in one weekend, because I need them and I need them now!  Every year. I just don’t learn. Anyway, with cold weather on my mind, I have made a couple of Holiday things and thought I’d share them with you all.  I hope it’s not to early for you!  🙂 I love …
