The Amazing Spider Lady!

I made my first Halloween card of the year! I don’t make many Halloween cards; it’s just not tradition around here to give Halloween cards…not that I couldn’t try to start something… Isn’t this stamp cool?  This is one of the fabulous stamps I received from Sideshow Stamps!  They are so fun over there and have the quirkiest hippest retro stamps and offbeat stamps I’ve found!  Love them!  They have a new blog (and a cute new baby too) so check them out! I used alcohol inks on my card to make the torn panel look creepy.  I used raisin and espresso drops and blended with the blending solution and applicator, on Whisper White cs by Stampin’ UP!   The Alcohol inks are available at your local scrapbook store or your favourite online store.  They are made by Tim Holtz/ Ranger.  I love the different effects you can get with these inks. The image is stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink (Stampin’ UP!) and all the edges are distressed. I had fun with it! Hope you …

Beautiful Daze!

It’s a Beautiful Day!  That’s true, but I’m talking about the theme for this week’s SBS18 challenge!   The theme chosen by my sweet SBS18 sister, Jenny, is “Beautiful days”, forgive me for changing it in my title~ heehee- she wanted something hippie, happy, and a little musical! She was going to an outdoor Levellers concert, so I think the theme was definitely influenced by this! 🙂 Go take a look at the other design team samples and play along for a prize! For my dt sample, I pulled out my only hippie like stamp from Sideshow Stamps.com, and inked her up!  Isn’t she fun!?  I colored her with my Letraset Promarkers, and  a blender brush.  Sideshow Stamps has a fabulous variety of retro, cool, and even goulish stamps, that you simply have to check out! I had to do some masking for this, to make it look as though she is sitting in that retro egg chair.  I first masked off part of the chair on the stamp, stamped it, then masking the chair on the …

Bee Sweet!

Here I’ve made my own paper with Boho Backgrounds in Summer Sun ink on Summer Sun card stock and added these wide eyed bees in basic black. This was for a limited supply challenge on SCS. We had to make our own designer paper and use only our own dp on the card. I used Beate’s sketch # 43 for the layout. Check out her blog, Fresh & Fun! The really rust panel is paper pierced freehand. For a how too on this, check out the TECHNIQUES page. I cut out one bee and popped her up on dimensionals. The flower is stamped and cut out, with the petals curled up and held on with an orange brad. The sentiment is not smudged. It is from a set called For the Men and is supposed to look a little dirty around the edges…or sticky in this case! I spelled the word *bee* with single letter stamps from Inkadinkado, in Really Rust. The card base is Not Quite Navy cs. Card Supplies: Stamps- Cornish Heritage Farms, …
