Squigglefly Yipes! Stripes Challenge

I made this Halloween card for today’s Stripes Challenge at Squigglefly’s blog.  What do you think?  Enough stripes? ‘ I used striped paper from a bundle I bought at Costco a  long time ago. I think it might be DCWV though.  I alternated the panels to make more stripes and paper pieced the little witch’s hat and coat with the same dp.  Look close! Even the little pumpkin is striped!  Marlene’s image is adorable isn’t it? She has a whole series of these… and nerdy boys too!  Check out the Squigglefly blog for more Stripes inspired creations! A Sketchy Squigglefly Challenge

This week at Squigglefly Marlene (our super fearless and funny leader) has given us a fabulous sketch to follow!   I had a ton of fun working on this sketch  with my friend Peggy over for the better part of Friday!  We not only had time to make cards, but also to go out to lunch and head over to my local scrapbook store!  A fabulous day!  Thanks to Des (hubby extraordinaire) for picking up the boys from school giving us plenty of time to play!!  Could a girl have it any better?!  I think not. Head on over to Squigglefly to play the SKETCH CHALLENGE and don’t forget to use any of your favourite Squigglefly images for a chance to win!!  For my card I used a Lulu Lancaster image called Gothic Bouquet and colored her up with Copics.  I think she is so sweet with those sad puppy dog eyes. I thought it would make a good “get well” card for a friend who’s been really sick for a couple of weeks now.   I …

Blue /Green Birthday Card

SQUIGGLEFLY has a new challenge for us today!  BLUE and OR GREEN are the colors of choice for this challenge and they happen to be my favourite colors!! I used this adorable ‘Birthday Bears’ image by Cheryl Alger for my main panel and used Copics to color it.  Of course the image is available at Squigglefly!  I made the card base with blue bayou cardstock, matting the image with it as well.    I have used different shades of blues and greens throughout the card. I hope you’ll play along in our challenge this week!  Blues and or greens are all you need, oh, and use a Squigglefly image if you want a chance at winning an image of your own!   If you don’t have any of your own yet,  there are FREEBIES you can use too!  There are many great images to choose from…something for everyone at Squiggefly! Squigglefly Kraftastic Challenge

Squigglefly has a new artist, new releases and a new challenge this week! Lulu Lancaster (LulusApple)  is the edgy new artist bringing Squigglefly some ‘creepy cute’ images for your moodier days of crafting.  You know you have it in you…those moods have a way of creeping up on even the most innocent of us! The challenge this week, set by our fearless leader Marlene (Marlooney) is…KRAFTASTIC! I made a mini art journal that I’m sure I’ll fill with sketches and card designs.  This spirited “gothic angel” is reaching for the stars and just trying to stay true to herself!  The cover is made from Kraft cardstock; I stamped the stars and flourishes, and added a little doodling of my own.  She has icicle stickles on her wings for sparkle, and crimson pearls ” just because”! HOW   TO: 1. Cut two kraft pieces  and  10 pieces of cream or white light weight paper. I’ve cut mine to 3 1/8″ x 4″ but you can make your journal any size.  Round the corners of  one side on …

Happy Monday everyone!   I hope you are having a good one!   SQUIGGLEFLY always makes Monday’s better with a  fun new challenge!  This week’s challenge is my first as a new DT member and I’m happy to say that I’m one of Marloony’s Marvels!   Heather’s Headliners were up this week with their Good Ole Summertime challenge, and this week Marlene wants us to show our metal, so steel yourselves and show us what you’re made of!    WATCH OUT Heather’s Headliners, Marloony’s Marvels are elbowing their way in!  teehee a little in house rivalry, but all in good fun! I used metal brads on the tires of this cute new image by Diane Carubia called TALLY HO!  I added two more metal brads as accents at the top of the faux ribbon strips.  The image is colored with copics and I’ve used a wonderful sketch for this card from My time made Easy. Butterfly Kisses

Hi everyone!   After spending the day sick in bed, I finally felt well enough to have a bowl of soup which I managed to keep down, thankfully!  The boys spent the afternoon at a friends house, as I was in no shape to look after them.  My husband was working and could not get away, so I had to fend for myself.   I must say I wished someone would have been here to look out for me, like I do for everyone when they’re sick!  Oh, well enough of the poor me stuff…   I’m sure I’ll be better tomorrow, as I was feeling well enough by this evening.  I even managed to finish off this card I started yesterday. I think this digi image from Squigglefly is just so precious, don’t you?  Angela Donato is the artist behind this image called “Hugs”, and you can find it HERE. I used lilac cardstock for the mat and base.  I cannot say what the dp is as it was a gift from Rosana, my sweet blogging friend! …
