Over the Edge

CAS-ual Fridays’ challenge this week has gone OVER THE EDGE!  And I just had to join in! I colored the ACN  LOVE BIRDS image with copics and cut them out.  I placed the birds on a watercolor background that I painted using Corel Painter Essentials.  Then, I punched a simple border for the bottom and added a splash of color with the felt foam flowers and buttons.  I also added a tab ribbon in the bottom right for Splitcoaststamper’s challenge ‘tags &tabs’ that I think helped balance out the over the edge look of the birds at the top left. Forever

I have a guilty conscience…and just have to admit…that I spent an ENORMOUS amount of time perusing LilyBean Paperie’s blog today!  Melissa’s cards are so inspiring!  I probably should have been doing laundry or sweeping, but I just couldn’t help myself!  Although I know I could not make a card that comes close to her beauties, I do take some comfort in knowing that I can take a few elements of her gorgeous style and incorporate them into my CAS style. I loved the look of her  ‘Speak love’ CARD and I took the element of key and banner and made a little tag to mount on on this lavender 4 1/4 square card. The CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week is ‘tags & tabs’  which also helped inspire this card.   The vintage key was a gift form a fellow blogger and the paper is digital dp  that I created using my own Pear Blossom stamp.  I paper punched the heart and used a metallic gold paint pen and glitter pen to give it a golden …

Case Study Cherries

This week’s Case Study caught my eye! This is my take on it. Instead of a painted backdrop, I made a sponged grunge frame in green and added my cherries image. I painted the CHERRIES using Corel Painter.  I created the sentiment (computer generated), printed it  on canvas textured card stock and finished with a little red button . Have a creative day and thanks for stopping by! Deena

Holly Ribbons Christmas Card

I’ve created the sentiment using My Memories Suite Software‘s word art feature.  I replaced the O with my ACN CHRISTMAS WREATH image, and embossed the whole panel with a Cuttlebug Holly Ribbons folder.  I love the festive look the embossing gives this simple card!   What do you think? Christmas Holly

This CAS  card is accented with 4 scored lines across the top, and colored in traditional red and green, the SPRIG OF HOLLY takes the spotlight and finishes with a simple sentiment.  Not much more to explain here right?!  I do so love a simply festive card!   I colored the image using airbrushes in COREL Painter Essentials 4.  My hand drawn digitized image SPRIG OF HOLLY is available at A Creative Need Etsy.
