Free Birthday Crown Template and Tutorial

Here’s a fun template that is perfect for birthday parties! I used it last night to create a personalized crown for my son who is turning 8 on saturday! CLICK HERE FOR FREE DOWNLOAD OR HERE FOR THE PRINCESS VERSION Using MyMemories Software to Customize your Crown (as I have done with my son’s crown at bottom of page by adding monogram letters to form his name) Download template file and install it into your software Using MyMemories Suite, choose Create Album From Designer Template and find your project Now you can add pictures, print and enjoy the provided template, or customize it with your own papers and embellishments. Instead of adding the paper as a background paper, you can add it as an embellishment so that you can move the paper around.  This is especially useful when using papers with stripes or circles, so you can decide which part of the paper you want to use. Once it is added as an embellishment, you can now select the paper and move it into the …

The Littlest Witch

Hi everyone! This week, Melissa has asked us to take a color combo challenge;  we must use RED, BROWN and GREEN in our cards or projects. I have today’s Crafty Creations challenge card made and I felt so bad about not getting last week’s done (numbers) that I’ve combined it with this week’s new challenge!   Stitchy Bear Stamps is the sponsor for Crafty Creations challenge this week and I was able to use this adorable witch image.  I’m certain she will grow up to be a’good witch’ :)!  I colored her with Copics  and used core impressions texture card stock in green to back the main panels.  The decorative paper is Basic Grey.  I added a Basic Grey red button with some brown thread for  a bit of added interest.  The 31 is cut using my cricut expression with the Happy Hauntings cartridge. That’s it for today, have a good one and thanks for stopping by!! Deena

Music/Dance Crafty Creations Challenge

This week Melissa has set her very first Crafty Creations challenge and is asking for a MUSIC OR DANCE related theme for our creations!  I decided to make a votive candle cover (battery operated NOT flame).  The digital image and paper are from the fabulous TIDDLY INKS, our sponsor this week! I printed the dp, then put it through the printer a second time to add in this sweet fairy(Fairy Fae catches a Star).  I colored her with my copics, and added some dazzling diamond glitter (Stampin’ Up!) to her wings and some of the stars in her hair.  I also added a tiny turquoise gem in her hair.  The sentiment is from Verve (Wild Thing) and makes me think of the song “Every little thing she does is Magic” by the Police. I simply folded the paper in thirds to create a somewhat triangular tube, keeping  a half inch edge at the back to secure it shut with some 1/4″ tacky tape.  I punched a heart shape on all three sides to let some …

Magnetic Memory Game Travel Tin Tutorial

MAGNETIC MEMORY TRAVEL GAME SUPPLIES 1 tin fun foam (self adhesive if available) cut into 24 one inch squares (most dollar stores carry this) strong mini magnets stamps (small images around 1″ ) 6 images for this size tin ink adhesive (ultra sticky red line tape) How To: 1. Measure your tin to see how many squares can fit.   A typical altoid tin can fit 2 rows of 3 in each the lid and the base, if the squares are cut to 1″. 2. I cut my self adhesive fun foam into 1″ squares.    The magnet is adhered with red line adhesive tape to the sticky side of one square.  Take another square and “sandwich” the magnet between the two squares leaving the second square’s sticky side out (for image adhesion) .  Repeat until you have finished all 12 two layered squares. A NOTE :  The magnets I use are extremely strong.  In fact without the double layer of foam, they would have ripped off the back and stayed stuck to the tin.  That …

New In Color blitz!

Hey everyone!!   Hope you all had a great weekend!  Here we are back to our routines and almost Tuesday!  We had a lovely weekend.  We took the boys to see the new Ice Age movie  and  we had dinner with friends on Saturday, and then a bbq with family on Sunday.  Busy but fun!! I made this card for the Featured Stamper challenge yesterday.  I turned the sketch, changed the colors and dp, and used a different, yet similar stamp.    I am enjoying these bright yummy new In Colors from Stampin’ UP!  How about you?  Sometimes I find I need time to let the colors sort of grow on me, but this time I really like them!  I might get a little sick of them after a while, since I usually like softer colors, but, for now I’m having fun! I played with my copics again with this image.   I don’t have any brown so I used Memento rich cocoa for her hair.  I love that my old satin purely pomegranate ribbon matches so well …

Mom’s Love Notes

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend!!  I enjoyed time with my family, and the looks on my boys and niece’s  faces as they hunted for their Easter treats!   They had so much fun. Now we need to look ahead a bit to the next holiday, so we can be ready for it. Yes, Mother’s Day is right around the corner folks! We need to get our Moms something special and we can’t forget the cards! I don’t have a card made yet, but I did make these 2.5″ x 3″  love notes, that made me think of my Mom… There is something so sweet about a little note, and I’m sure I remember my Mom leaving one or two around for me to find when I was a teen.  Maybe it was the only way to communicate with a me, since I was always off and running, leading my busy teen life!  But I enjoyed getting those notes and I enjoy leaving them too.  Do you have someone who might …

A New Dress (100% Sweet)

I went shopping today for my boys.  Not fun really.  First of all they don’t like shopping.  Second of all, I don’t like shopping with them. I needed them there though, to try on shoes.   It’s like pulling teeth just to get them to try on a pair too.  My oldest Son, who if you recall is only 7 has had a huge growth spurt in the last month!  I can’t keep up.  Maybe I could if there was as much of an assortment of clothes for boys as there is for girls though.  What’s up with that?  I have the hardest time finding a plain pair of blue pants for my son, while in the girls department I pass by 10 different styles!   Boys clothes are really boring.   It’s always the same thing. Girls on the other hand have so much choice!  I see so many cute outfits, dresses, pants, skirts, shorts, capris, tops, sweaters and shoes!!  O.k, too much choice, you Moms of girls might say!   But really, would it be that …

Carousel Note Card

Hello!  It’s official now, I have to hibernate!!  It has started snowing here!  The first real snowfall of the year for us! And for me, that means it is time to cozy in for the winter! 🙂   Oh, alright, maybe not, I guess I have to go outside for silly reasons like picking up my sons from school… but I would hibernate if I could!! Today’s card is made using two Carousel Notes from Stampin’ Up! These notes are wonderful. They are 5 7/8 in diameter and come in three of the new SU In Colors! along with 30 scrumptious chocolate chip envelopes.  I attached them with a mini flower brad so that the top swivels open to reveal the inside sentiment and lovely Basic Grey dp! I can’t get enough of these beautiful papers!!  Maybe I could line my walls with them?! I love how the embossing looks on this.  I just used the With Love embossing borders folder, and repositioned it across the circle of yellow decorative paper a few times. Easy! The …
