Vampires and Bats

It’s FALL Y’ALL!!  Crafty Creations Challenge is looking for FALL COLORS: RICH REDS, WARM BROWNS, GOLDEN YELLOWS and  EARTHY ORANGES.  I decided to make a Halloween card inspired by the Fall color challenge using Digital Delights Vampire Pippin digi image. My card is 100% digital!  I’ve colored the image using Corel Painter Essentials and then designed my card using My Memories Suite Software.  I’ve used a brown textured background paper, and a yellow textured ribbon and embellishing with bats, and stitching across the ribbon strip.  I love the shadow feature to add some depth to card elements. At Checkout, copy/paste this Promo Code STMMMS31200 and you’ll receive $10 discount on the software AND $10 at the store! I really do love using this software and highly recommend it to everyone who loves to craft with digis! Have fun! Squigglefly Yipes! Stripes Challenge

I made this Halloween card for today’s Stripes Challenge at Squigglefly’s blog.  What do you think?  Enough stripes? ‘ I used striped paper from a bundle I bought at Costco a  long time ago. I think it might be DCWV though.  I alternated the panels to make more stripes and paper pieced the little witch’s hat and coat with the same dp.  Look close! Even the little pumpkin is striped!  Marlene’s image is adorable isn’t it? She has a whole series of these… and nerdy boys too!  Check out the Squigglefly blog for more Stripes inspired creations! Marlene’s cute as can be ‘Nerdy  Girl Witch’ is available at Squigglefly. I’m entering my card in these challenges: Unscripted Sketches #127- sketch Squigglefly– Stripes Sentimental Sundays– Anything goes plus a sentiment Sparkles Forum – Halloween I hope you all had a great weekend!  Today is Canadian Thanksgiving, but we had our dinner celebration with my Sister in Law and her husband at our house on Sunday.  Today I think we’ll just relax and enjoy the day with …

Creepy Crawly Halloween

We’re getting dressed up for Halloween over at Crafty Creations Challenge Blog. Our cards and projects are Halloween or Autumn themed and we look forward to seeing yours too! I cut the web, dangling spiders, and the  ‘creepy crawly’ phrase from the  Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge.  I had this great distressed looking black and white dp, but can’t remember what company it’s from, sorry!  I layered it on black and then a gray card stock card base and it was done…fast and easy with the Cricut! Thanks for stopping by! Deena

The Littlest Witch

Hi everyone! This week, Melissa has asked us to take a color combo challenge;  we must use RED, BROWN and GREEN in our cards or projects. I have today’s Crafty Creations challenge card made and I felt so bad about not getting last week’s done (numbers) that I’ve combined it with this week’s new challenge!   Stitchy Bear Stamps is the sponsor for Crafty Creations challenge this week and I was able to use this adorable witch image.  I’m certain she will grow up to be a’good witch’ :)!  I colored her with Copics  and used core impressions texture card stock in green to back the main panels.  The decorative paper is Basic Grey.  I added a Basic Grey red button with some brown thread for  a bit of added interest.  The 31 is cut using my cricut expression with the Happy Hauntings cartridge. That’s it for today, have a good one and thanks for stopping by!! Deena

Halloween Treats

Jaime has set the challenge over at Crafty Creations today and she is inviting us all to join in on… ALL HALLOWS EVE So pull out your spooky crafting goodies and stop by Crafty Creations to see  some monstrously amazing Halloween creations from the rest of the team! I made a sweet treats bag and will have to make about 40 of these I figure, for my boy’s classmates at school.   The top part is made in my cuttlebug using the labels one nestabilities die.  I layered the dp on black card stock, folded and stapled it to the top of a mini zip lock bag.  I punched two size ovals using my SU! punches and stamped the Happy Halloween sentiment in tangerine ink on vanilla cardstock.  I stamped a little SU! pumpkin, and a studio g dangling spider in the vanilla circle.   These were adhered to the bag with dimensional foam adhesive. I’m so happy you stopped by today!!  I always enjoy your company 😉 !!

A Beary Merry Christmas

Today’s technique challenge on SCS was to make an easel card.  I love this style card!!  Penny has shared her tutorial for us HERE.  I decided to make a Christmas card, after all what better kind of card is there to display and use as a decoration after receiving?  It  was so fun to make and not difficult.  If you have any questions about how I made it, ask away, but I think if you look at the tutorial you’ll see how easy it is! Also, if you haven’t already heard…I’ve been asked to be a Custom Crops designer!!  I’m so excited about this, as you all know how much I love to write my own picture tutorials right here on my blog, now I will be writing some exclusive to Custom Crops too!  I have my first two projects up on CUSTOM CROPS with detailed tutorials and lots of pictures!  So have a look and please  leave me a comment…I soooo appreciate your support!!  This is my first time and I can’t help but …

Eek!

I couldn’t resist this little haunted house from the Snag’em Stamps Hallowhimsy Collection! It’s so cute! I just had to buy it even though I don’t make many Halloween cards. Maybe this year will be an exception! I started by stamping the house in basic black ink, on Very Vanilla card stock, then embossed it in clear ep. I masked off the moon with a punched circle and sponged Peach, So Saffron, Pumpkin pie, Walnut Stain and Basic Black inks around it.  The 4″ circle is cut using my Creative Memories cutting system. Then, I painted the inside of the house with Twinkling H2O’s in Autumn Butternut, and Wintermist Gray. The base card is 11″ X 5.5″ Very Vanilla cs folded in half, for a 5.5″ square card.  I also sponged the edges with the Peach ink. The bg is stamped with eek! from the Bitty Boo’s Too Stampin’ Up! set, on K & Co.  paper. This was  so fun to make! Hope you all like it! Look for Snag ’em stamps (Imaginisce) at your …

The Amazing Spider Lady!

I made my first Halloween card of the year! I don’t make many Halloween cards; it’s just not tradition around here to give Halloween cards…not that I couldn’t try to start something… Isn’t this stamp cool?  This is one of the fabulous stamps I received from Sideshow Stamps!  They are so fun over there and have the quirkiest hippest retro stamps and offbeat stamps I’ve found!  Love them!  They have a new blog (and a cute new baby too) so check them out! I used alcohol inks on my card to make the torn panel look creepy.  I used raisin and espresso drops and blended with the blending solution and applicator, on Whisper White cs by Stampin’ UP!   The Alcohol inks are available at your local scrapbook store or your favourite online store.  They are made by Tim Holtz/ Ranger.  I love the different effects you can get with these inks. The image is stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink (Stampin’ UP!) and all the edges are distressed. I had fun with it! Hope you …
