Weddings and Anniversaries

Wow, I can’t believe a whole week has passed since I posted last!  I have been low on mojo lately…maybe I’m just enjoying the lazy days of summer.  I hope to find my groove again though, as I am feeling really out of touch with my crafty online friends!  I hope to get around to visiting your blogs soon too! Last week I finished up 75 of these wedding invitations and RSVP cards for my niece’s wedding in October.  She has mailed them out and is anxiously awaiting the return of the RSVPs.   I was so happy to have the opportunity to make these for her and her fiancé!  My niece is crazy about the color pink and she was very decisive about having pink and black invitations.  It is her overall color theme for the wedding too.  I have been seeing this modern, trendy color scheme at other weddings lately too!  I had complete creative license with the rest though and gave her a few options to choose from.   She chose to keep …

In Love (with Jillibean Soup)

I just had to make a Valentine card with this sweet Jillibean Soup paper!  It’s called dry sherry from the Cold Raspberry line.  Doesn’t that just sound so yummy?  I love the kraft and rich red color combination for a Valentine too. I also had fun using my new Cricut Expression for the elements of this card. Did any of you get a Cricut Expression for Christmas?  Have you taken it out of the box yet? If you were waiting for an easy project idea to get you started, go ahead, get it out, plug it in and let’s have some fun with our new Cricuts!  There are some basic cuts in this card to warm you up to your Cricut; I’m already in love with it! I started by cutting my card base at 5 ½” x 4 ¼” in Bazzil red card stock.  The next layer is a piece of white card stock cut to 5 ¼” x 4”. Using the Cricut, I cut the Jillibean Soup paper using the Accent Essentials Accent47 …

White Winter Magic

The limited supplies challenge on SCS on Friday was to make an all white Christmas card,  with only white embellishments, and no patterned paper.  It got me thinking about how much I enjoy a white Christmas. There is something magical about a white christmas.  I am not a fan of winter or cold weather, but I do love a pretty snowfall.  It is so wonderful to see that first sprinkling of white like a dusting of icing sugar over everything.   After a fresh snowfall,  the world sparkles and the landscape is covered in a beautiful white blanket.  Ahh, if only it could stay that way.   There have been very few Christmases that I have not seen that white landscape, but so far this year we have not had any snow stay on the ground, just a few flutterings that have melted away…but I’m pretty sure that will change soon!  In the meantime, I’ve made an all white Christmas card to help put me in that white Christmas spirit! I added a lot of texture to …

A Fall Feeling

Hello!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Yesterday was a beautiful warm sunny day, so we decided to take a drive out to Quinn Farm for some apple picking.  We do this every Fall with the boys and we always have a great time.  We picked up some farm fresh baked apple crumble and some apple muffins too. YUMMY!!  I will be making some of my own apple crumbles soon too, with this huge bag of apples that we picked!  We were able to pick from both Cortland and Macintosh apples.  They are a little on the small side this year, but delicious nevertheless! We had a really nice day! Below  is a Fall card that I made on Friday for the Limited Supply Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. We were to use “halloween” colors but not necessarily a Halloween card. I stamped the Inkadinkado leaves in Real Rust and Memento Rich Cocoa inks on Kraft card stock.   The paper on the lower half is Bo Bunny Fall Harvest mini dots.  I added an edge of …

Thanksgiving Tree

Hello everyone!! I just spent an hour over at Splitcoaststampers, at a New Release “Power Hour” party for Flourishes!! I am a bit dazed…phew those posts scroll fast!! It is not easy to keep up and read all of them!   It was really fun though, spending time with some lovely women from all over the world!  There were even 4 or 5 of us from Canada!! EH!  🙂  I even won a $10. coupon at Flourishes…which I promptly used when I purchased the new release bundle!  I’m so baaad… shopping after hours!! I had time to play today too, since the boys were at school, and in between loads of laundry… I made a Thanksgiving card for my Twisted Sisters challenge, and followed the limitations set by Splitcoaststampers Limited Supply Challenge.  We had to use a new tool, an old stamp, a fave color combo and a not so fave embellishment. My least favorite embellishment…flowers My fave color combo (or one of) is olive green and chocolate My newest tool is my crop a dile …

A New CAS Challenge Make Over

It is Monday morning, the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL for both my boys.  One is returning, going into grade 3 and my little guy starts Kindergarten later today!!  I am excited for him, because he is sooo obviously excited too. But, I am also a little sad, because it means he’s officially not my “baby” any more.  So much changes when children start school…the way they look at things, the way they behave, attitudes, more independance…which can all be good, but sometimes bad, or at least hard to take as a MOMMY!!  I am sure I will survive;  I am  looking forward to having some extra time to craft. Speaking of crafting….this is a card I made last night.   This week’s CAS (clean and simple) card is all about MAKE OVERS!  I had to pick one of my own cards to re do in a CAS style.  So here is take two of a card I made quite a while back. Here is the first take below: I love blues and browns together, can you …

Every Purse Needs a Gift Card in it!

I made these GIFT CARD HOLDERS months ago and I guess they just never  made it to my blog.  I was so sure I had posted them that I just spent 15 minutes looking back through my posts only NOT to find it! lol.  I guess I thought about posting them and then never did! Yikes, I must be losing it!! Anyway, today’s SCS Limited Supplies challenge was to make a gift card holder (any kind) and it had to have a butterfly and something chocolate on it…so I thought of these and made another one for the challenge. Isn’t a purse  the perfect way to present a GIFT CARD?  I’ve added an insert to hold it securely (slots and a sticky foam dot). The first is the one I made for today’s challenge. Papers: jenni bowlin studio, Basic Grey dp, very vanilla cs, chocolate cs Accessories: cuttlebug, classic scalloped circles, Labels One nestabilities, Chocolate chip ribbon, misc. hardware Have a wonderful weekend everyone!   Thanks so much for stopping by!
