Happy Day!

Happy Day! This is my interpretation of the sketch challenge this week on SCS. I made a hybrid digi card. I printed and cut my image and popped it up on dimensional foam tape in place of the main image panel.  I added a button for the circle element. I used digi papers for my paper strip panel. They are printed directly onto the main card frame, along with the sentiment at the bottom. Challenges: Crafty Creations – Happy Birthday Have a creative day! Deena Advertisements

A New Image, BUY ONE Get TWO!

Did you know that  October is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH?  I wanted to do my *small* part in showing my support and helping spread the word.  Research is so important, and we  can  be a part of the movement to end all cancers.  Just by sending  our cards to those fighting cancer can do so much to help!  As you know there are many card drives going on in our crafting community and they need all of our support.  Will you join in? SCS is having their 2nd annual Hope You Can Cling To Card Drive and I made this card to show my support.  The image I’ve used is a new one I drew after a little birdie whispered in my ear that it would be a good idea to draw something for cancer awareness.  She is absolutely right!  I hope that the sale of this image will benefit ALL OF US!   HOW WILL IT BENEFIT CANCER RESEARCH?  $1.00 from every sale of this “Hope Branch” image  from my ETSY shop, will be …

Vintage Botanical

I love it when I can just make a card for no other reason than the passion I feel for creating something! I have been swooning over some of the vintage images at The Graphics Fairy lately, and I’ve downloaded quite a few, so, many thanks to Karen from Graphics Fairy! My card today is a blend of BoBunny gabrielle collection dp, and vintage paper printed on white cardstock  that I folded to make my background  base card. The main image of the apple blossom c. 1890 on a piece of torn scrap paper was printed, cut out and distressed around the edges.  The torn paper is from an old Geography book that had a boys’ name and the year 1891 written in it!  Isn’t that cool?  You can see the date in the top right. I used a Flourishes stamp for my sentiment and added a short piece of crinkled seam binding and a single aqua pearl for embellishment. I was inspired by the SCS sketch today and that got it all started for …

Big Deal Dad!

Dad is a BIG DEAL around here!  Our boys love spending time with their Dad;  whether it’s playing games, watching movies, having him read to them at bedtime, or  helping him around the house! He is the best DAD ever and they adore him!! Of course, he adores them too!!! I love this image from Lynne Stansbery for SQUIGGLEFLY!  It’ called His Father’s Son.  And yes, I think our boys have big shoes to fill if they are to follow in his footsteps! I made my own computer generated sentiment as I did not have one I liked for the image.  The papers are ECHO PARK  walk in the park, and I used COPICS to color the image.  My husband’s favorite color is yellow, did you guess?!  I’ve also used today’s sketch from SCS. Squigglefly’s challenge  this week is “make it masculine”! Since Father’s Day is right around the corner, it’s perfect timing! Bon Voyage!

I used a technique called “Direct to Paper” and made this Bon Voyage vacation/travel card.   The tutorial is on SCS if you would like to have a look. I used Versa Color and Color Box chalk inks to create the sun and the waves, stamped the Technique Tuesday ship and sentiment in Versa Color Bark ink, and added the crinkled seam binding through two set eyelets.  The result?  Well, I’ll let you be the judge of that! I took the Color Throwdown challenge: blue, green, and yellow! Thanks for stopping by!  You know I enjoy your company!! Deena
