Color Blossom Thank You Card

I thought it would be fun to design some colorful blooms for SPRING.  Ahh, Spriiiing. Where are you? I really REALLY miss you.  In fact, I. can’t. wait. until you get here.  Believe me.  I will thank you for it! I gave my blooms a digital pencil crayon coloring and resized and arranged them here for a cheerful  printable digital THANK YOU CARD.  I was debating whether or not to make these blossoms available as pre-colored digital image downloads….what do you think?   Have a creative day my friends!  Deena

Vintage Swan Thank You

Hmmm, well it seems I am a little late with my cards this week!  I had a busy Canadian Thanksgiving weekend and my Mom was in town visiting with us since Saturday.   I enjoyed our time together, but after she left this morning I was trying to play catch up with some challenges and card making! I made my card for a couple of challenges, one of which was the DIGITALLY SWEET CHALLENGE to make a 100% digital CARD FRONT.  I missed the entry time by 8 minutes! lol!! CRAFTY CREATIONS has a photo inspiration challenge … from which I was  inspired by the inky blues and the feather for my card… I layered my card with digital papers from STUDIO GARNET and used a vintage swan for my main image.   I added a double layer of stitching in black and navy, embellished with a vintage digi button, and then digitally stamped the sentiment all using My Memories Suite Software. Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!  Deena  At Checkout, copy/paste …

Thank you to the Teachers

As the school year is coming to an end, I have been making a few thank you cards for the teachers.  My boys had a good year, just how good is yet to be determined with Friday’s report cards! I used MMS ($10. oo Off MMS if you use my coupon code: STMMMS31200) to design the dp, adding the smiley face and a+, pencil and paper clips, but you get the idea, this can be done with stamps too of course!  The mat is Kraft cardstock on a deep red cardstock base.  I added the red paper clip at top right.  Inside is stamped with a thank you! Have a great day everyone! It was a really hot one here today and I was so happy we have AC and a pool!!  Deena

Autumn Thank You

How was your Monday?  Aside from wrestling with a battery operated can opener for 20 minutes to A: get it to open the can  and when that failed…B: to get it to release from the can…which was also unsuccessful… my Monday was pretty good.    Seriously. I can laugh about it now…the opener is in the garbage along with the can it wouldn’t release itself from.  Yup. Modern Family meets Big Bang theory.  <grin> I made a card using a new image I drew…I promised you something more  in keeping with the season right?! A pumpkin bouquet  makes a lovely Thanksgiving table centerpiece!   I colored the Autumn floral arrangement with copics : R12, R14, YR68, E23, E31 E33, YG 93, YG95. The edges are inked with dried marigold Distress Ink. I’ve entered the CR84FN39 color challenge using YELLOW, BROWN, AND ORANGE. I’m also playing in the MAKE IT MONDAY  linky party (always anything goes) Would you like the image?   I’d love for you to have it!  Just click on the LINK below the image to …

Best in Sew Digital Images

Hello! I’ve made a card with a bit of a vintage look tonight, using a couple of images that I drew in pencil, then digitized.  I’m new to making my own digital images, but since I’ve been drawing again of late, I really wanted to have a go at it.  I am pretty happy with the results, and I actually find it very therapeutic to ‘clean’ them up using my windows paint program.  I like that they still look like pencil drawings in the end too.   Not quite as polished as some images, but I think that adds character!  I’ve always been drawn to things in their more natural state.  🙂   What do you think? I used Pink Paislee 365 degrees dp for the top and bottom panels, and LilyBee designs This and That for the image panel.  The images are printed on vanilla cardstock and the card base is the same.   The sketch is from the SCS challenge: SC345. I hope you like it…I was a bit nervous about sharing this one, but …

Child’s Play Vintage Collage

I had soooo much fun with this collage card!  I found these fabulous vintage images at Graphics Fairy and decided to use them as part of my collage for the Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use it challenge. I have few different things going on in this card. I’ll start with the DIY dp, in the background.  I printed this great alphabet chart image fromThe Graphics Fairy onto vanilla cardstock at full size.  Easy! For the main panel, I printed the same image at 2.5 x 3.5″ on vanilla card stock and then put it back in the printer making sure that I printed the children’s silhouette positioned over the chart.  Then I added some rubber stamping to these printed images using Flourishes Timeless Quotes (flourish in the corners), and a Prima Marketing clear stamp frame around the children playing.   I  tore the edges and inked with Tea Dye Distresss ink. The dp behind the collage is from Cosmo Cricket Odds and Ends (abc’s). I wanted to dress up my inexpensive dollar store lace ribbon, so I …

Summer’s just about here!

My boys have 1 1/2 days left of school!! I’ve definitely got some mixed feelings about this.  On the one hand I am looking forward to the hot summer days and spending time with them in the pool and having time to play with them, carefree with  NO HOMEWORK and NOT having to make any more packed lunches! But on the other hand, I know that it also means hearing “I’m bored” every time they stop moving for half a second, and breaking up squabbles between brothers, and having many neighborhood kids running around my house at all hours of the day!  No more peaceful mornings for me!! Oh well, I am quite certain the happy moments will outweigh the others!  I’m ready! Bring it on!! I’ve made another thank you card for one of their teachers (I need 4 ) and I’ve used the sketch from Monday’s CAS challenge on SCS. Let me know what you think! I stamped, cut out and paper pieced the books using Unity Stamps Hodgepodge of  Happiness. The notepaper …
