Vampires and Bats

It’s FALL Y’ALL!!  Crafty Creations Challenge is looking for FALL COLORS: RICH REDS, WARM BROWNS, GOLDEN YELLOWS and  EARTHY ORANGES.  I decided to make a Halloween card inspired by the Fall color challenge using Digital Delights Vampire Pippin digi image. My card is 100% digital!  I’ve colored the image using Corel Painter Essentials and then designed my card using My Memories Suite Software.  I’ve used a brown textured background paper, and a yellow textured ribbon and embellishing with bats, and stitching across the ribbon strip.  I love the shadow feature to add some depth to card elements. At Checkout, copy/paste this Promo Code STMMMS31200 and you’ll receive $10 discount on the software AND $10 at the store! I really do love using this software and highly recommend it to everyone who loves to craft with digis! Have fun! Giving Thanks

It’s time to give thanks!  It’s American Thanksgiving this weekend, and at Crafty Creations  we are showing our gratitude in many different ways with many different projects! I’ve followed the Stamp with Fun sketch for my card, and I was also inspired by The Shabby Tea Room ‘colors of nature’ photo inspiration challenge.  I loved the colors and I knew I had to use my “Apple Cider” digital image for this thank you card.  It just seemed to fit the occasion! I colored the image with copics in only 4 simple colors!  (E08 for the cinnamon sticks and E11 to lighten them a bit, and for the inside rim of the mug, YG93 for the mug, and R14 with a bit of shading in with E08 again on the apple.) The  background paper and red panel are from Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends and the others are some scraps I had laying on the table.  For a simple embellishment I’ve tied a little bow with red crinkle ribbon that I purchased on Etsy. I hope those of you …

Thankful for the Falling Leaves

The days are getting shorter,  and the nights are getting colder,  Fall is definitely here!  The leaves seemed to have changed overnight! The colors are beautiful…orange, yellow,  red and brown and even gold!  I love the sound of the crunch underfoot and it will soon be time to get to raking.  The boys helped last year but they spent a lot of time piling the leaves in heaps so they could fall into them and POOF! all our hard work is undone! lol  But it’s SO MUCH FUN!! I sketched this image yesterday and I’m so pleased with how it turned out!   I think it captures the spirit of Fall for me.    I colored the image with copics in many shades of beige and brown and green  and added a touch of soft pale pink and grey to the child’s  jacket.  Now, if you know me, you know that my images are inspired by every day life and my own children, who happen to be both boys! But, I wanted to make this …

Book Plates for Back to School

I was playing with Corel paint essentials and decided to color my image for this week’s CRAFTY CREATIONS CHALLENGE digitally.  It’s really fun, but there’s alot to learn!  That’s o.k though, I’m up for the challenge! But don’t worry, I’m not going all digital on you! I just wanted to try something a little different this week. The challenge is to show your INNER ANIMAL!   Well, we all have a wild side right?  I DO!! Of course, it’s usually in the morning before I’ve had my first cup of coffee! 😉 GRRRrrr. Beware the claws! Boyz to Men

Wednesday already!  Which means it’s  Crafty Creations challenge time.  This week the theme is “Boyz to Men”, and we’re being sponsored by Lily Of  The Valley Stamps!  Their stamps are really adorable; just wait until you see them all!! I colored this sweet little guy with water color crayons and a paint brush because I wanted to keep it soft.  I find copics too bright, or maybe I’m just too heavy handed or simply don’t have enough pale markers!  Hmmmm?  That would mean more shopping required, so it’s just as well I used water colors! Do you see the background file/ index card?  I cut that with my Cricut using the Graphically Speaking cartridge; I think I may have bought this cartridge specifically for that  image!  I’m so bad. I used a fabulous sketch from Kathy’s Waffle Sketch File: July 2011 Sketch.  However, I had a duh! moment since the title is: JULY SKETCH: OVALLY nice.  Well, as you can see I did not use an oval for my main image panel!  I guess I’m …

A Mini Paris Purse

The Crafty Creations Challenge this week was set by Amy; here is what she has to say: Bonjour!  and thanks for joining us for our latest challenge at Crafty Creations.   The theme this week is anything but a card, with a Paris theme. A few members of the design team are visiting the City of Light which inspired the idea. Our sponsor, Black Leaf Studios is back!  : I knew I wanted to make a purse for this challenge using my Forever Young Cricut Cartridge.  I used the images supplied by Black Leaf Studios (Poodle in Paris set) and made a collage of them in Picasa 3(free editing software), and printed it on white cardstock for the face of the purse.  The whole front is flat piece, but the collage effect makes it look like there are layers!  Isn’t that cool?! I used the image collage as the face of the purse by cutting it out with the Cricut.  <flower 5> Purse feature shift at 5 1/2″, using the center point button to make sure it …
