Evening Romance

Michelle Pearson’s gallery on SCS is full of unique cards! I chose to case Evening Breezes for the Featured Stamper challenge. I used my “Shall we Dance” silhouette image and a frame from the  Cricut Graphically Speaking cartridge.  I love the elegance of the frame and it’s so unexpected coming from this cartridge! It is a much more versatile cartridge than I was expecting.   I actually used the negative cut from the frame for the whole face of the card, and the remaining piece to mat the image. Simply Paper Pieced

I love it when a card comes together like it was nothin‘! I made this simple paper pieced vase using two Unity stamps. I stamped the flower first on the white card stock,  then the vase on the dp (My Mind’s Eye Lime twist). I used Jilly bean soup blossom soup dp for the background panel…you need to look closely to see that it’s not the same as the vase dp!   The die cut layer was cut using the Graphically Speaking cartridge in my Cricut expression.  The center of the flower and the outline of the oval  is lightly inked with mint blue Copic  B01.  I stamped the Flourishes (taglines) sentiment and voila! I’d like to mention that this card was inspired by Limedoodle’s beautiful CAS cards!  I didn’t  case any particular card, but I spent some time perusing her blog and was surely inspired! I’m playing in a few challenges: fun with shapes and more: what you want Joyful Stamper: Inspire me Fridays anything goes So glad you had a moment to spend …

Boyz to Men

Wednesday already!  Which means it’s  Crafty Creations challenge time.  This week the theme is “Boyz to Men”, and we’re being sponsored by Lily Of  The Valley Stamps!  Their stamps are really adorable; just wait until you see them all!! I colored this sweet little guy with water color crayons and a paint brush because I wanted to keep it soft.  I find copics too bright, or maybe I’m just too heavy handed or simply don’t have enough pale markers!  Hmmmm?  That would mean more shopping required, so it’s just as well I used water colors! Do you see the background file/ index card?  I cut that with my Cricut using the Graphically Speaking cartridge; I think I may have bought this cartridge specifically for that  image!  I’m so bad. I used a fabulous sketch from Kathy’s Waffle Sketch File: July 2011 Sketch.  However, I had a duh! moment since the title is: JULY SKETCH: OVALLY nice.  Well, as you can see I did not use an oval for my main image panel!  I guess I’m …
