Cricut Baby Christening Card

I have written a new cricut project tutorial for a Baby Christening card framed with soft ribbon.  Of course the framing technique could be used for many different card occasions, not just for baby’s christening.  Just change up the colors and the image!  You can see the full tutorial with step by step photos at CUSTOM CROPS.  They have fabulous projects there and always FREE for you!  I always appreciate your comments and questions if you have any!  Have a great day and I hope you enjoy the Custom Crops tutorial!  Deena Related articles Published! Trick or Treat?!

It’s one day away from Halloween…just enough time to get some last minute treat bags made for my boys!  I used mostly scraps for this project, and turned some ENVELOPES into mini bags with a few simple scores and folds. 1. Seal the envelope (I used an A2 sized envelope) and score both long sides at 1/2″  and one short side at 1/2″.   Cut across the top with decorative scissors. 2. Score the corner on the diagonal and then fold all score lines back and forth a couple of times to make sure they are not stiff.  This will help you get the shape you want when you open it up into a bag. 3. Put your hand in the opening (like a sock puppet)  to push open the bag/envelope and with your other hand push flat the bottom and pinch the side fold flaps.  Glue these little flaps down with strong adhesive or red line tape to the bottom of the bag. 4. Crease your sides, by pushing middle line inwards and pinching …

Butterfly Kisses

Hi everyone!   After spending the day sick in bed, I finally felt well enough to have a bowl of soup which I managed to keep down, thankfully!  The boys spent the afternoon at a friends house, as I was in no shape to look after them.  My husband was working and could not get away, so I had to fend for myself.   I must say I wished someone would have been here to look out for me, like I do for everyone when they’re sick!  Oh, well enough of the poor me stuff…   I’m sure I’ll be better tomorrow, as I was feeling well enough by this evening.  I even managed to finish off this card I started yesterday. I think this digi image from Squigglefly is just so precious, don’t you?  Angela Donato is the artist behind this image called “Hugs”, and you can find it HERE. I used lilac cardstock for the mat and base.  I cannot say what the dp is as it was a gift from Rosana, my sweet blogging friend! …

Home For the Holidays Tags

I love making tags!  For these I’ve used the Joys of the Season cricut cartridge to weld a little house to the tag base. Then I simply cut the base, cut another house out of  dp (Pink Paislee Father Christmas), stamped, sponged and added baker’s twine for the tie! The tag is 1.75 inches wide and 3 inches tall.  Here’s a pic of all three… I used Memento rich cocoa ink to sponge the edges and stamp the snowflakes.   The sentiments are stamped in broken china Distress Ranger Distress ink, and rich cocoa. Cup of Cheer Gift Card Holder

GIFT CARD HOLDERS is the theme for this week’s Crafty Creations challenge.  I’ve been down with the flu this past week and drinking lots of  hot comforting mugs of tea with lemon, so perhaps that’s why I used this cup shape  for my gift card holder! I designed the card by welding the cup to it’s flipped image  uisng the Cricut Design Studio and Joys of the Season cartridge.  The holly border is cut into the dp layer, the dp  is adhered to a second layer ( front cup shape) cut from white card stock  for additional stability. These two layers were adhered with double sided tape to the front of the card base to form the pocket for the gift card.  The mistletoe is cut from the same cartridge and I’ve use two little candy cane beads for the berries.  The inside sentiment is from Flourishes Sweets of the Season set. I often give coffee shop gift cards at Christmas, and I think this is a fun way to present them.  I like that …

The Littlest Witch

Hi everyone! This week, Melissa has asked us to take a color combo challenge;  we must use RED, BROWN and GREEN in our cards or projects. I have today’s Crafty Creations challenge card made and I felt so bad about not getting last week’s done (numbers) that I’ve combined it with this week’s new challenge!   Stitchy Bear Stamps is the sponsor for Crafty Creations challenge this week and I was able to use this adorable witch image.  I’m certain she will grow up to be a’good witch’ :)!  I colored her with Copics  and used core impressions texture card stock in green to back the main panels.  The decorative paper is Basic Grey.  I added a Basic Grey red button with some brown thread for  a bit of added interest.  The 31 is cut using my cricut expression with the Happy Hauntings cartridge. That’s it for today, have a good one and thanks for stopping by!! Deena
