Music/Dance Crafty Creations Challenge

This week Melissa has set her very first Crafty Creations challenge and is asking for a MUSIC OR DANCE related theme for our creations!  I decided to make a votive candle cover (battery operated NOT flame).  The digital image and paper are from the fabulous TIDDLY INKS, our sponsor this week! I printed the dp, then put it through the printer a second time to add in this sweet fairy(Fairy Fae catches a Star).  I colored her with my copics, and added some dazzling diamond glitter (Stampin’ Up!) to her wings and some of the stars in her hair.  I also added a tiny turquoise gem in her hair.  The sentiment is from Verve (Wild Thing) and makes me think of the song “Every little thing she does is Magic” by the Police. I simply folded the paper in thirds to create a somewhat triangular tube, keeping  a half inch edge at the back to secure it shut with some 1/4″ tacky tape.  I punched a heart shape on all three sides to let some …

A Weekend Getaway

Hi everyone!   I had the most wonderful weekend!  My friend and I drove to Kingston On. and our friend from Toronto met us there for a girl’s weekend!!  It was just what I needed!!  The first night my sister was able to join us for drinks and a movie as she lives only 20 minutes from Kingston, so that was the icing on the cake.  We  went to see Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey.  Well what a kooky romantic comedy that was!!  We all had a good laugh.  The rest of the weekend was spent shopping and eating in the company of my fabulous friends…definitely a great time! I did miss my boys though, and was happy to see them when I got home on Sunday afternoon.  Des had been pretty busy and had done some housework, laundry and groceries, and was outside staining the cedar panels for our new pool that we will soon have up and running!  Isn’t he the best husband ever???  Yup.  HE IS!!  I did pitch …

Home Decor Desktop Calendar

Flourishes has lovely digital calendar pages.  Seeing as it was the end of January and I needed a calendar for my craft room, I decided to download them to make a desktop calendar project.  I decorated  this quite quickly and simply with my new Cricut Home Décor cartridge.  But you don’t need a Cricut to make the calendar!  It’s an easel style base so it can be easily opened and closed; I can leave it standing on my desk or pop it in my purse!  It’s compact at 41/4 x 41/4!  If you would like to make one too, I ‘ve written a full picture tutorial you can see HERE at CUSTOM CROPS.  I hope you enjoy it! As always, if you have any questions or comments I am happy to hear them!  Thanks for stopping by! Tonight at midnight I will post the first of three challenge sample cards for Flourishes!! Yippeee!!! They are having a celebration for their 1 year anniversary of Timeless Tuesday Challenges and invited me to make some samples for …

An Unconventional Christmas

I’ve made a gatefold card for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge and combined it with the Twisted Sisters challenge on SCS to use unconventional colors for a Christmas card.   Well these colors are definitely not my usual choice for Christmas cards… I stamped the Flourishes wreath in rich cocoa and colored in the berries with Memento potter’s clay marker and copics YG95.  I also added a little shimmer with my Sakura gel pen. The dp is from Crate paper. The card stock is groovy guava and soft sky, and the ribbon is American Crafts. Thanks for stopping by!

Be Merry and CAS!

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend! How was Thanksgiving for those of you in the U.S.A?  Wonderful,  and busy I expect!  We took a quick trip to my Sisters and then on to my Mom’s house over the weekend. They live an hour apart, and 3 hours away from me.  It felt so great to see my Sister and her family and of course my Mom and Grandma!  It’s so hard to say goodbye though.  My Grandma is 86 and each goodbye gets harder. I did get some nice photos of us that I will try to post soon! This is just a quick post today to show you the latest cuttlebug design card I made.  It is clean and simple and I think just perfect for mass producing!   I decided to sell a few of these in my Etsy Shop too. I’ve made it for the Cuttlebug Spot challenge this week as well- winter theme. The top part of the white panel is embossed with snowflakes using the cuttlebug and …
