Christmas Morning Scrap Page

I was inspired by Let’s Get Sketchy to create an 8 x 8″  Christmas scrap page.  I chose one of last year’s photos of my son on Christmas morning. I used My Memories Software Suite V5 to design the LO.  This is the easiest software to use for scrap layouts! I love it!  The digis are elements and papers from Time For Christmas, and Letters to Santa. Challenges: Let’s Get Sketchy-sketch lo Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge– Christmas Papertake Weekly– anything goes Thanks for stopping by my friends! Deena

Love, Peace and Coffee Layout

I thought today I’d share this page I made using a couple of my digi images and Cottage Arts Letting Go digi kit.  My inspiration for this page came from  CSI: CASE FILE #55 challenge. I’ve use COFFEE GIRL and HOT CUP OF COFFEE available at A Creative Need.   I used My Memories Software to create the layout and used embellishments, and papers to created the layout.   I added the butterfly to my coffee cup and some blue brush strokes.   I did my own word art for the sentiment which was inspired by Easily Mused Six Word writing prompt sentence…”I could think of nothing more than its sweetness”… As I made the page I was thinking how wonderful it would be if only peace and unity were as easily shared as a cup of coffee.  After some contemplative conversations, my friend and I joke that between the two of us and a good cup of coffee we could solve all the worlds problems if only the rest of the world would listen and …

Delicious Autumn

Another Autumn layout for the album!  I used a photo of my youngest son with his friend, from the afternoon we spent apple picking.  Boy did they ever eat a lot of apples that day! The challenge that inspired this page: The Digi Dares– Dare Flair: 1. Use as many papers, patterns as you please….I just want to see at least one plaid OR houndstooth paper in there. 2. Some paint. 3. Foliage… leaves, branches, berries, etc. 4. At least one ribbon. I’ve used papers from My Memories Suite Software various Autumn kits from the digital Design club. Elements, paper and stitches from Cottage Arts Garden Life. See you again soon!  Deena

Sunshine

This is a digital page I made inspired by CASE FILE 44 at CSI color… stories…inspiration.  I am so enjoying these challenges!  I was so excited to see that my CSI case file 42 was featured last week too!! My Evidence: Flowers, swirls, transparent element My Testimony: journaling in a swirling shape, inspiration word; open, Write 4 things about your subject (in my journaling) This photo is one I took this past August while camping at Charleston Lake in Ontario.  It was overcast and rainy for most of the time we were there.  For the purpose of this page I wanted to try a technique I learned to enhance color and focus to one area of a photograph.  I altered it in Corel Painter.   Opening a duplicate of the photo, I created a black and white ‘painted’ layer, then tracing around my son with the lasso tool, I inverted the selection and ‘cut’ out the rest, leaving me with only the color image of my son on a black and white painted image of the …

Adventure and Discovery

Adventure is such a big word; filled with excitement, mystery and promise.   But not all adventures are large in the scale of our lives…but sometimes the small adventures we take, are the best ones! I am myself embarking on a new adventure in digital scrapbooking…and it is leading me along wonderful new creative paths.  I believe the key to enjoying life is to try to make new discoveries, however small they may seem, and to follow the road and choose the paths that these discoveries lead you on, to better discover yourself  along the way. I was inspired to create this page after seeing this week’s CSI Case File #42 I was intrigued by this photo I took in Jamaica of a vintage car, and using an app called Vintique, I aged the photo too for a retro look. I just love the color of this car and It just jumped out at me for this challenge!  I think it really symbolized adventure as I wondered who drove it…and where…over the many years of …

Hi! Don’t miss my DT CALL…for all the info check HERE.   Today I have a scrapbook page I’d like to share with you! This is the final version of the SCS PROGRESSIVE PAGE Challenge!  This is a fun 4 week challenge to create a page by following challenge guidelines, adding new elements each week of the month.   It’s the first time I’ve played along…and I had a blast! The page is of my son and it’s a memento of the afternoon we spent at Jude Pomme apple orchard with our friends.   I created a little tag with the name of the orchard on it so I wouldn’t forget it.   I’m really happy with how this turned out! Digi art: Follow Your Art Angie Young Sassy Studio 1210 frame, leaves Cilenia Curtis Sassy Studio 1210 papers and matte geld Sassy Studio 1210 – clip embellishment, branch leaf Sweet Shoppe Designs J Barrette- tag The word art,  journal tags, red clip, and apple on the tag is from My Memories Suite Software.  The entire …

Autumn’s Face

I created this page for CASE FILE NO. 41 .   I just discovered CSI;  it’s a weekly challenge that inspires scrappers to create with new color schemes and tell their personal stories.  I loved the inspiration of this case file!  The colors are not those I would ordinarily turn to, but are so gorgeous together!  And here’s a little secret; I kind of liked this photo of myself, which is a rare thing!  I was happy and having fun apple picking with my boys and some good friends, so that is in large part why I like it!  Also, Autumn is my second least favorite season, but in making this page I realized that I don’t actually dislike it as much as I thought.  As in the quote above…there is a certain grace about it. I followed the color scheme, using all the colors, and I’ve left behind the evidence too, in the form of layered textures, a delicate overlay and a ‘ruffled’ border strip.  For my testimony I added a journaling tag with …
