A Sketchy Squigglefly Challenge

This week at Squigglefly Marlene (our super fearless and funny leader) has given us a fabulous sketch to follow!   I had a ton of fun working on this sketch  with my friend Peggy over for the better part of Friday!  We not only had time to make cards, but also to go out to lunch and head over to my local scrapbook store!  A fabulous day!  Thanks to Des (hubby extraordinaire) for picking up the boys from school giving us plenty of time to play!!  Could a girl have it any better?!  I think not. Head on over to Squigglefly to play the SKETCH CHALLENGE and don’t forget to use any of your favourite Squigglefly images for a chance to win!!  For my card I used a Lulu Lancaster image called Gothic Bouquet and colored her up with Copics.  I think she is so sweet with those sad puppy dog eyes. I thought it would make a good “get well” card for a friend who’s been really sick for a couple of weeks now.   I …

Blue /Green Birthday Card

SQUIGGLEFLY has a new challenge for us today!  BLUE and OR GREEN are the colors of choice for this challenge and they happen to be my favourite colors!! I used this adorable ‘Birthday Bears’ image by Cheryl Alger for my main panel and used Copics to color it.  Of course the image is available at Squigglefly!  I made the card base with blue bayou cardstock, matting the image with it as well.    I have used different shades of blues and greens throughout the card. I hope you’ll play along in our challenge this week!  Blues and or greens are all you need, oh, and use a Squigglefly image if you want a chance at winning an image of your own!   If you don’t have any of your own yet,  there are FREEBIES you can use too!  There are many great images to choose from…something for everyone at Squiggefly! Check out these fun challenges that I play too! Birthday Sundaes: birthday card with sentiment (French “Happy Birthday”) Make it Mondays: anything goes Linky party and …

Blue Bird

I made this card for the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS last night.   Jo (reddyisco) has many beautiful cards to take inspiration from!  I found one that I wanted  to case, but used a different stamp and colored it with copics.  The background embossing is done in the cuttlebug with the Floral screen folder.  I added a green edge punched panel in place of her ribbon and a button instead of a bow.  I’m so happy with how it turned out!  I really like this little Flourishes bird and branch together from the Home Tweet Home set. Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Deena

Mother’s Day

It’s time for this week’s Crafty Creations Challenge and we are to make Mother’s Day cards!  Getting organized ahead of time is always a good thing isn’t it? Our sponsor this week is The Stamping Boutique!  I am using one of their lovely images for my card today, and I’ve colored it with Copics.  I used a base of gray cardstock and light yellow textured cardstock. The sentiment is French for “Happy Mother’s day”.  I am making a few French sentiment cards for sale in my my Etsy shop. Thanks for stopping by!  Have a creative day! Deena

Grown With Love

Rustic beauty is the theme Flourishes has brought us with this month’s BBB02 (Bring Back Beautiful challenge).   I think this has a rustic Country charm feel to it, with the distressed seed packet and crochet flowers.   I stamped the seed packet and sentiments on kraft cardstock, then I did a little distressing around the edges and inked it with baja breeze and bermuda bay.   The papers are Crate papers (Samantha collection) that I’ve had for some time…when I like a certain dp, I always buy it in multiples! Thanks for stopping by today!  You know I enjoy your company! 😉 Deena

It’s  time again for me to host the Crafty Creations challenge!  I decided to make it a LIMITED EDITION CHALLENGE.  For this challenge you must limit your supplies to 1 image, 1 designer paper and 1 embellishment.  Not so hard, right?!  If you think you are up for the challenge, we would love to have you join us and prove to me that you can stop yourself from reaching for j u s t   o n e   m o r e embellishment!! 😉 1 dp: American Crafts 1 image: Digi Kitty Spring Rabbit 1 embellishment: Basic Grey button I used Copics to color the image and old olive card stock for the base card and matting. Mother’s Bouquet

I’ve combined the colors from this week’s COLOR THROWDOWN with FLOURISHES twinchies challenge.  Ever hear of a twinchie?  It’s a 2″ x 2″ piece of mini art that should be the focus of your card.  This mini version of Flourishes gorgeous Gerbera Daisies is the stamp I chose to use simply as my focus for this Mother’s Day card.  I colored them with copics in four shades of pink and two shades of green. These are the lovely colors for this week’s color throwdown.  I didn’t have to go far to find them. My 6″ x6″ pad of Sultry Basic Grey papers were calling me! Papers:  pink and basic gray cardstock (SU!) Stamps: Flourishes Gerbera Daisies, Stampin’ Up! All Holidays sentiment Ink: memento tuxedo black Accessories: copics: R01, R11, R20, V01,YG93,G94, Stampin’ Up! basic gray ribbon, dimensional foam I’m so glad you stopped by, enjoy a creative day! I’ve colored the Flourishes Signs of Spring image with Copics and I’ve paper pieced the eggs in the basket with Basic Grey dp.  The eggs and the frame are cut using my Cricut. Pink Vanilla Birthday

Jennifer has set out the Crafty Creations Challenge for us this week.  We were to use “shades of one color”.   I used shades of pink creams.  The yummy image is from Fresh Brewed Designs, our sponsor this week! I used Copics to color the mug and cupcake, using these yummy sounding colors; R00 pinkish white, R01 pinkish vanilla,R11 pale cherry pink, and E11 barely beige. The papers are from Creative Memories. The flowers are handmade, and the lattice borders are done with a Martha Stewart punch. I hope you’ll join us for this week’s challenge at CRAFTY CREATIONS CHALLENGES! Thanks for stopping by, and for your sweet comments!  I so appreciate them, and love to visit you too, so if you are new here be sure to leave me a link to your own blog! Have a creative day!
