Bon Voyage!

I used a technique called “Direct to Paper” and made this Bon Voyage vacation/travel card.   The tutorial is on SCS if you would like to have a look. I used Versa Color and Color Box chalk inks to create the sun and the waves, stamped the Technique Tuesday ship and sentiment in Versa Color Bark ink, and added the crinkled seam binding through two set eyelets.  The result?  Well, I’ll let you be the judge of that! I took the Color Throwdown challenge: blue, green, and yellow! Thanks for stopping by!  You know I enjoy your company!! Deena

Feeling Happy!

Hi everyone!!   I am in a very good mood!! I went over to FLOURISHES blog today to see what they were up to, since they just released three fabulous new sets on Friday.   I was admiring the cards of the recent winners when my heart flipped to see one of my own cards as an honorable mention!!  I am feeling really honored!!   Thanks to everyone at Flourishes!!  I think they know how much I love their stamps, and the respect I have for their fabulous team, since I believe I may have mentioned it once or twice, as well as stalking their site! lol Here’s the card I used the new In Color Bermuda Bay, Creamy Caramel  and whisper white for the card, and stamped the images on Basic Grey dp.  The waterlily and bud at the bottom are cut out and popped up on dimensional foam adhesive.  I used my scallop circle nesties for the half circles ( I wanted a pond like appearance to this card).  Isn’t this a wonderful Waterlily set from …

Golden Dawn

Dawn Lusk (Dawn… a New Day). is the Featured Stamper on SCS this week!!  I love her style and had to play, so I cased this beatiful card here: Birthday Wishes. I changed the colors and the papers, used a different floral stamp and embossed it in white instead of stamping in black.   I also used a wide ribbon and added a white mat layer to set off the yellow.   I am really pleased with how this card turned out and I will be making a few in different colors for sure! Papers: Stampin’ UP! Delicate Dots dp, whisper white cs, Bazzill yellow cs Stamps: Flourishes Spring Ephemerals Ink: Versamark Accessories: So saffron ribbon (Stampin’ Up! ) white embossing powder Thanks for stopping by today!!

Inspired by an Artist

Hi!  The card I have to share with you today was inspired by Glenda Mosher’s art.  She is not only a stamper, but an artist as well! I really admire her talent and her lovely paintings!  You can see them for yourself  on her blog.  Glenda’s art was featured as the inspiration challenge choice for this week.  I made two pieces for this challenge!   The first is a card inspired by her Tiger Lily painting.  The second is a little different!  It’s a 1 inch square  “painting”.  I used Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps for the flowers and stems/leaves, and I sponged in the sky, then used a pin to scratch out white areas to highlight.   I sealed it with Crystal effects. I used the new Fifth Avenue  and  Botanical Blooms sets from Stampin’ Up! and Bird on a branch for the sentiment.  All are stamped direct to paper (Classic K Margo).  I lined the inside with whisper white.  The florals are colored using a blender brush and inks. I guess I was missing my old …

Bookmarks For Your Favorites

I so enjoy a good book, and almost as much, I love a pretty bookmark! The color combo challenge on SCS  inspired me to make this bookmark  and I really love how it turned out! I stamped the Flourishes bird in Archival Black Ink, along with the sentiment Fly Away With Me, directly onto the Basic Grey dp.  I layered it on Always Artichoke card stock and Basic Black Cs.  The top is shaped using a tag punch. Here’s another style of  bookmark that I am really enjoying lately too.  Have a look, I first saw this style on StampingMathilda’s blog and just thought they were such a unique, lovely idea! Have a lovely and creative day!

Just a little something

If you’ve been paying attention, you cannot have missed it;  there has been a flurry of activity going on in blog land!  Namely, a few blogging elves who have been busy giving away candy and creating beautiful, inspiring things for us all to ooh!  and ahh! over!?  I’m talking about Stamp Simply Party Central, over at  No Time To Stamp?  She and her creative design team have been featuring projects en masse in celebration of Sharon’s blog reaching 1 million hits!! Well today is the last day of the celebrations, and I wanted to share what I have been inspired to make since this party started. On day 8 of the 12 day celebrations, Julie from Out To Impress challenged us to make some small gifts to have on hand during the holiday season. So, I decided to pull out these plain white favor boxes that I had been hoarding and decorated them with a few strips of dp,  die cut foam snowflakes, and some ribbon, and I was done!   I punched a window in …

Get Quoted!

Hello! Today is Wednesday so that means a new challenge is up and running on our SBS18 Challenge Blog! This week’s challenge was set by Jaime asking us to “Get Quoted”. This is the sample ATC I made for the challenge, using Flourishes Stamp Simply, Coffee with Friends quote. I stamped the clock face from Cornish Heritage Farms Time to Stamp set directly onto Basic Grey Infuse dp. I then stamped the quote, and the steam flourish from the cup.   The coffee cup from Coffee with Friends is stamped directly to dp, cut out and popped up on adhesive dots. Stamps: CHF Time to Stamp, Flourishes Coffee with Friends Ink: Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Weathered Wood all Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Paper: Bazzill Java, Basic Grey Infuse dp Thanks so much for visiting!!   You know I love your company! 😉

Dancing a Two Step!

Yes I’m dancing a two step for Sharon’s notimetostamp blog challenge. Sharon is having a week long celebration and it’s going to be FUN!  Today’s Stamp Simply challenge asks us two create something using a two or three step stamp and try to incorporate flowers or butterflies a la StampincuzILuv2‘s Dee, Sharon’s featured stamper this week! I was limited to a choice of three, two step stamps, and I chose this one because I have always thought it to be so beautiful, yet have not used it that often. Time to ink it up again! I also used Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #56 as my starting off point. I tweaked it a bit by changing it to a square card, and stamping the image on the second layer, instead of giving it it’s own panel. The MFT Boho Blossom is stamped directly on the dp, as well as the words Friendship, joy and love. You may have to look very closely to see the latter two! 🙂  The outline is stamped in Pink Pirouette, and …
