Hello again! Did you miss me? I apologize for not posting more regularly, but it’s been a busy summer. My boys are going back to school this week and I am a little sad of it. The summer flew by and I will miss the long warm days and not having a schedule or routine. I’m sure we will adapt again quickly to the bagged lunches, rushed mornings, and homework routines! As summer is waning, I know many of you are still working in the garden and enjoying those late summer blooms and trying to rejuvenate others. These images are for you, I hope you enjoy them! I made a CAS card for the CASology challenge this week… the key word was CONTRAST…which inspired me to use contrasting colors (coral and turquoise) to make my image pop. I used only four layered digital elements to create my card starting with airbrushed graffiti in coral. The next layer is watercolor paint spatters in turquoise. Then I placed my Country Heart Chair image and finished with the sentiment. Super simple and I love the painted background, as it makes me think of painting the walls of a new home! I created all the digital background elements I used here with Corel Painter Essentials 4. An old version but fabulous nevertheless. I love digital painting! I can get as creative as I like and use different medias (acrylics, watercolors) and brushes all without the mess! Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day! Deena

This CAS card is accented with 4 scored lines across the top, and colored in traditional red and green, the SPRIG OF HOLLY takes the spotlight and finishes with a simple sentiment. Not much more to explain here right?! I do so love a simply festive card! I colored the image using airbrushes in COREL Painter Essentials 4. My hand drawn digitized image SPRIG OF HOLLY is available at A Creative Need Etsy. The sentiment is computer generated.
