A Couple of Post Christmas Cards

Just before Christmas I cased a card from my friend Peggy’s SCS gallery; I loved all the layers!  She had suggested that we case a card from each other’s gallery when we got together last, which was a lot of fun!  So here is what I did… I used ACN’s Christmas Wreath for my image. and Peggy made this card casing a card from my SCS gallery…. I love the papers she chose! She also used an ACN Image called BELLS and HOLLY. Thanks for stopping by; I hope you are keeping well as I know there are alot of colds and flus around this time of year!  Try to stay healthy and have fun crafting!  Deena

Christmas Holly

This CAS  card is accented with 4 scored lines across the top, and colored in traditional red and green, the SPRIG OF HOLLY takes the spotlight and finishes with a simple sentiment.  Not much more to explain here right?!  I do so love a simply festive card!   I colored the image using airbrushes in COREL Painter Essentials 4.  My hand drawn digitized image SPRIG OF HOLLY is available at A Creative Need Etsy. The sentiment is computer generated.  I’m entering this CAS card in the following challenges… CAS on Sunday– One Layer Wonder! CAS-ual Fridays: CFC120-Curtain Call CAS-ual Christmas Speedy Fox and Friends #186– Red Christmas The Crafty Bloggers Network– Christmas Dream Valley Challenges– CAS ACN Challenge– Ribbons or Buttons (ribbon on image) Thanks for stopping by! Wise Words Challenge

Crafty Creations challenge this week is WISE WORDS – use a quote or saying in our creations!  Simple enough!  I decided to use a Christmas quote as I am still making my Christmas cards. I’ve designed my card using My Memories Suite, adding in snowflakes and my Vintage Holiday Mailbox.   I’ve colored the ribbon in Christmas red, and added a little sparkle to the snowflakes.  I thought this quote by Marjorie Holmes was appropriate to the season, as well as the image! Thanks for stopping by, and have a creative day!  Deena

December New Releases and CHALLENGE with FREEBIE

Happy December to you!  Christmas is right around the corner and I am making my wish list….I need a new washer/dryer and a new refrigerator! Do you think they will fit in Santa’s bag??  🙂 Yup, just in time for Christmas my dryer has decided it doesn’t want to dry. It likes things damp and cold!  Apparently it’s well suited for this coming winter!  It seems that my refrigerator isn’t quite as enthusiastic about the cold though! 😦  No matter, I’ve been a good girl this year and I think Santa will treat me kindly. So what’s on your wish list? More exciting and interesting things than appliances I hope! I have been busy with my drawing and happily I have new images to share with you. Here are the new images for your December crafting!   I hope you like the vintage inspired HOLIDAY MAILBOX and CHRISTMAS STOCKING, and we couldn’t celebrate the holidays without some CHRISTMAS CANDY could we?!   And for those ‘expecting’ more than Christmas wishes this year…we have the cutest …

The Holidays are really upon us and I hope you’re done your shopping because it’s time to decorate!  Crafty Creations Challenge  theme is to ‘Deck the Halls’ with embossing and glitter!   You can make any style card you like, it does not have to be Christmas, but be sure to use glitter, and heat or dry emboss something on it!    I am sponsoring this week’s challenge with 3 free digital images to the winner from my own shop… A Creative Need I hope you will join us for the challenge!  NEXT WEEK we are having a 2 week blog hop and lots of prizes and winners!  I embossed the background using WINTER HOUSE cuttlebug folder  and glittered the tree and snowflakes with dazzling diamond dust. Christmas Puppy

I had fun making this Crafty Creations challenge card using an adorable image this week from LOTV!   Isn’t this Christmas puppy so cute? It’s not even my week for a DT sample, but I just had to play!  I love this sweet little pup and I need more Christmas cards anyway! A very practical challenge for us this week. This is a petite 4 1/4 square card.  I cut four 2″ squares from Kaiser Craft christmas carnival dp  for the background on a shimmery teal card stock. Join in and get another Christmas card done; LOTV is our sponsor this week! A few other inspiring challenges to play: Bearly Mine– UN traditional colors Creative Card Crew– tis the season The Stamping Boutique– Christmas no traditional colors I’d love it if you stopped by tomorrow; I have a couple of new images to show you and a FREEBIE too!  Have a creative day everyone! Season’s Greetings

I love this time of year.   My husband is finished work and is home.  He works by contract in the film industry and it ends up being  seasonal (warm weather) work most of the time.  No one likes to shoot movies in the snow!  Our boys  are at school.  So, we have time to prepare for the holidays and enjoy time alone together.   The boys get more and more excited about Christmas, and yesterday was special because it was the first day they could open a ‘window’ on their advent calendars! They give us their wish lists  and call us down to the playroom to show us the latest greatest commercial for the BEST EVER toy they just would love to have!!  O.k, sometimes this is annoying, but most of the time I find it kind of cute. As each day of December goes by, I will wish more and more that they could be finished school already so we could start the fun!  Their excitement is palpable. We will bake together. We will …

Squigglefly Sketch

This week Heather’s Headliners is challenging us to make some fun cards using Heather’s sketch and I thought I’d play along even though it isn’t my week for the DT samples.  I couldn’t resist! I used one of  Marlene’s new images available at  Squigglefly called “ Nerdy Boy Santa“.  I colored him with copics in colors similar to the background dp.  The dp is  Cosmo Cricket ‘Jolly by Golly’, and I matted it with Bazzill red, and white card stock.  The sentiment is Studio g. Join in the challenge at Squigglefly and don’t forget to use one of Squigglefly’s many fabulous images (you’ll find some of mine there too) for your chance to win a prize! Have a creative day! Deena
