I’ve been busy designing birthday cards ….playing with my new Cricut Explore Air! Sadly, my original Cricut Expression was laid to rest after many great years of use.

I’ve created the sentiment using My Memories Suite Software‘s word art feature. I replaced the O with my ACN CHRISTMAS WREATH image, and embossed the whole panel with a Cuttlebug Holly Ribbons folder. I love the festive look the embossing gives this simple card! NO!! You can’t make me…. CLEAN!! under the bed??!!! EEEK! Today at Squigglefly, it’s all about facing our fears! What scares you?? My kids might be afraid of monster’s under the bed, but I’m a rather practical kind of girl…I’m much more afraid of having to get under there and clean out all the ‘stuff’ we hide there…along with the dust bunnies!! Hehe Head on over to Squigglefly and DON”T FORGET: USE YOUR FAVOURITE SQUIGGLEFLY IMAGE for a chance to win the prize! Freebies are available on the Squigglefly site too. I made this fun Halloween frame last week. It’s a great Halloween decoration next to the pumpkins my boys and I made last week too. They love getting the house decorated for Halloween! I love it when a card comes together like it was nothin‘! I made this simple paper pieced vase using two Unity stamps. I stamped the flower first on the white card stock, then the vase on the dp (My Mind’s Eye Lime twist). I used Jilly bean soup blossom soup dp for the background panel…you need to look closely to see that it’s not the same as the vase dp! The die cut layer was cut using the Graphically Speaking cartridge in my Cricut expression. The center of the flower and the outline of the oval is lightly inked with mint blue Copic B01. I stamped the Flourishes (taglines) sentiment and voila! I’d like to mention that this card was inspired by Limedoodle’s beautiful CAS cards! I didn’t case any particular card, but I spent some time perusing her blog and was surely inspired! I’m playing in a few challenges: fun with shapes and more: what you want Joyful Stamper: Inspire me Fridays anything goes So glad you had a moment to spend …
What a lovely warm day it was today! Finally, I breathed some fresh Spring air and was invigorated by it! How was your Saturday? I did a little of this and a little of that; shopped for groceries, went home to unpack said groceries, puttered around outside awhile, went back out and bought new running shoes for my boys, spent some time browsing in Chapters and bought a lovely creative living magazine called Somerset Life, went out to dinner with Des and the boys, and finally, sat outside to look through my new magazine while sipping a hot cappuccino. A good day. I thought I’d share the card I made last night, using some sweet new papers from lilybeedesign called This & That. I thought they worked very nicely with this sweet little prima marketing clear stamp. Isn’t he cute? I love the simple lines of this stamp! I cut the party hat banner using my cricut and the Straight from the Nest cartridge. Then I pierced holes to thread it using my Sew …
Crafty Creations Challenges is heating things up this week! Jaime has set the challenge asking us to turn up the heat with embossing, hot beverages, or hot destinations! I like to warm up with a cup of coffee, my preferred cup of comfort! I stamped and heat embossed the cup directly onto a Basic Grey dp using versamark to stamp it and a versamark pen to fill in the inside cup area, too. Once it was completely embossed, I cut it out. The Kraft card stock is embossed with d’vine swirls cuttlebug embossing folder. The steam swirl and sentiment mat are cut with the Cricut Expression. (Accent Essentials and Home Decor) The base card is chocolate chip card stock. Stamps: Flourishes Coffee with Friends It has been seriously cold this last few days here in Montreal; a brutal – 25 celcius yesterday!! Today it seemed almost tolerable at -17 celcius! I sincerely hope you are experiencing warmer temperatures and I will just keep dreaming about Jamaica where I will be soaking up the sun soon… …
