The Holidays are really upon us and I hope you’re done your shopping because it’s time to decorate!  Crafty Creations Challenge  theme is to ‘Deck the Halls’ with embossing and glitter!   You can make any style card you like, it does not have to be Christmas, but be sure to use glitter, and heat or dry emboss something on it!    I am sponsoring this week’s challenge with 3 free digital images to the winner from my own shop… A Creative Need I hope you will join us for the challenge!  NEXT WEEK we are having a 2 week blog hop and lots of prizes and winners!  I embossed the background using WINTER HOUSE cuttlebug folder  and glittered the tree and snowflakes with dazzling diamond dust. The tree is cut using the Cricut Expression Joys of the Season Cartridge (discontinued). Have a creative day!  Deena

A New Image, BUY ONE Get TWO!

Did you know that  October is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH?  I wanted to do my *small* part in showing my support and helping spread the word.  Research is so important, and we  can  be a part of the movement to end all cancers.  Just by sending  our cards to those fighting cancer can do so much to help!  As you know there are many card drives going on in our crafting community and they need all of our support.  Will you join in? SCS is having their 2nd annual Hope You Can Cling To Card Drive and I made this card to show my support.  The image I’ve used is a new one I drew after a little birdie whispered in my ear that it would be a good idea to draw something for cancer awareness.  She is absolutely right!  I hope that the sale of this image will benefit ALL OF US!   HOW WILL IT BENEFIT CANCER RESEARCH?  $1.00 from every sale of this “Hope Branch” image  from my ETSY shop, will be …

Easter Dreams

I made one more Easter card yesterday, having been inspired by the “oval” (Ways to Use it) challenge on SCS!  We’re off to visit my Mom and  my Grandma tomorrow!   HAPPY EASTER everyone! The eggs are cut with the Easter 2010 cartridge at 1 1/2″ and 1 1/4″.  I punched the leaves using an EK success punch. Webster’s Pages dp, Kraft cs, concord cs used for the the papers.   The bottom panel is embossed with the cuttlebug floral screen embossing folder. Thanks for stopping by! You know I enjoy your company! Happy Easter! Deena

Happy New Year!!

Hi everyone!!   Happy New Year to you all!! Our family had a great time with friends and family over Christmas and New Year’s!  I hope you did too. I just have a couple of simple last minute Christmas cards that I didn’t have a chance to share with you before the Holidays.  I still want to show you though, because I thought they were sweet and simple, so a good idea for next year! These are small 4″ square.  The base is embossed with Holly Ribbons cuttlebug folder for a festive beginning, then a panel of Bazzil textured red card stock cut to 3.5″ by 1.75.   Front and center for the little drum by Flourishes, and the tree by Imaginisce, stamped in a golden green.  I brought some bling with the red and green gems for the finishing touch! Thanks for taking some time out to visit me, I hope you enjoy what you see! Deena

Weddings and Anniversaries

Wow, I can’t believe a whole week has passed since I posted last!  I have been low on mojo lately…maybe I’m just enjoying the lazy days of summer.  I hope to find my groove again though, as I am feeling really out of touch with my crafty online friends!  I hope to get around to visiting your blogs soon too! Last week I finished up 75 of these wedding invitations and RSVP cards for my niece’s wedding in October.  She has mailed them out and is anxiously awaiting the return of the RSVPs.   I was so happy to have the opportunity to make these for her and her fiancé!  My niece is crazy about the color pink and she was very decisive about having pink and black invitations.  It is her overall color theme for the wedding too.  I have been seeing this modern, trendy color scheme at other weddings lately too!  I had complete creative license with the rest though and gave her a few options to choose from.   She chose to keep …

Birthday Cards!

Hi! It’s another beautiful hot day here in Montreal! I had a wonderful long weekend with the boys, swimming in our new pool, and have been spending most of my time outdoors! You know what that means…not a whole lot of stamping going on! I do have to get more birthday cards done and I have 70 wedding invitations to make for my niece, so I really should get inside my craft room…but it’s soooo hard when I’m enjoying the first sunny hot days of the season! I wish I had a craft area outdoors! lol These are some french birthday cards that I made last week.  They are clean and simple but I tried to use some eye catching colors for some pop! Have a wonderful, creative day!!!! Deena

In Sympathy

A woman I know and speak to often at my son’s school, lost her MIL to cancer yesterday. I made this card for her tonight.  It has been painful and difficult to learn of each stage of the progression of her cancer, as my own MIL was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer and has been following the same path jut a couple of months behind her. It is a blessing that my family and I are leaving today to visit with my MIL.  She is still in her home with palliative care, so we will be able to spend some much needed time together.  We spent time with her over Christmas and she was still quite well, although very tired, but she has weakened a great deal since.  She is strong in spirit though and that is what really is important. I used the new F4A1 challenge on SCS to help me with this card…we were to use texture, patterned paper and a color we do not use much.   NAVY is definitely a …

Shades of Pale

Hello my friends!! Today is wednesday and I hope you know what that means…it’s time for a new Crafty Creations Challenge!!  This week’s challenge is “all shades of pale” set by Mandy.   We  have another fabulous sponsor this week too! Crafty Angels!! Here’s my dt card for this week… For my card today I wanted to keep all the colors very subdued for the challenge;  I found this great neutral dp from Crate paper that had just the palest of writing across it, which gave me the idea to emboss it with script.  I turned my script folder on a slight angle to emboss it as I did.   The images are from Inkadinkado’s “butterflies and birds” set.  I stamped them in Memento Rich Cocoa ink ( this is my new fave ink, It actually smells like cocoa beans!!)   I punched the images out using 1 1/4 ” square punch and matted them with sage colored scalloped squares SU! punch.  They are popped up on dimensional foam adhesive.  The card base is vanilla colored.  …

Snowflake Notes

I thought I’d show you this set of winter note cards that I made last week. I have so much fun making 3″ x 3″ notes!  I have a pack of Soft Sky card stock leftover fom SU! ‘s In Colors from a while back, and I always thought it looked yummy paired up with Chocolate Chip.  I embossed the Soft Sky in my cuttlebug using the snowflakes folder, I punched the snowflakes in chocolate chip card stock, then punched them out using my  scallop square punch.  They are matted with a square of vanilla card stock.  The vanilla looks much better with the soft sky here than white  cs would.  I think it’s due to the shade of blue that it is, or maybe the combination of the blue and brown, but I definitely thought the vanilla looked better.  I added the strip of chocolate chip ribbon for interest and voila! a set of note cards were done!  Hope you like them!! I know I have not been posting as often lately, but I …
